Where are there runways where you actually are in water. If i want to take off from water, and not from land. I just downloaded the cfs2 ships addon and want to start doing carrier ops on the net. But every runway I look at im on land, and not in the water. Where do I go?

I mean where do I go so that my plane is already in the water to begin with. Not take off from land but take off from water.

I think one of them is Seavair's landing. I will check later, but i am relatively sure that is one.

If you mean runways for floatplanes and such stuff, you have to look in canada or alaska. that

I normally use Lake Hood in Anchorage Alaska for my water takeoffs. There are others there but am not sure of their locations.

Matthew,
Is your question answered? What they are trying to say is there are not a lot of Waterports (Airports on water).
They can be found, if one knows where to look. You can land and take off from any body of water, but getting there requires flying, or slewing to get there.

SEattle Seaplanes, Seattle, WA, USA!
There is a downloadable list somewhere ( I think over at AVSIM, maybe here) that lists like over 100 water runways, so you can use the list and punch in the airport code in FS and then have your plane start in the drink... Try searching over at avsim....

Also they appear as an anchor on the world map, though you might need to zoom in a bit to see it.
I found one right next to the location you do PPL checkeride.

There's a real cool one in Manhattan. Forget the name of it (City Skyports?) but there aren't many NYC airports so check around and you'll find it.
There's a couple local float plane strips local to me which are modeled in fs9. One is in Tyngsborough MA, and the other is in Meredeth, NH. Not sure of the airport names and call letters.
Sorry, I'm not at home right now. If I were I'd check and give you the airport call signs.

Are there any with underwater 'runway' lighting? I think that would be really cool.
