Hi all,

I am at the begining of making plan for an around the world trip that will take the next 300 day...(estimated guest) all this using sf9. I need to know do you think it is possible to

leave England to Groenland and then to Newfoundland using the stock Baron included in the game(with landing to refuel on each part of the leg).
if not wich modern airplane (with all the panel and VC) do you recommend(no jet).
I plan to load 1 passenger and 100lbs cargo(to make it real). real life weather. but not at the real time. I dont want to pilot only at night.

I know that i can cross russia to alaska so that leg is not a concern. but the other side of the continent...

comment and help. please.
I think i will need a log book.... :)

Since I am not at home I do not know what the max range of the baron is but when you set up a leg check the nav log it lets you know how much fuel is needed for the trip. Mind you this does not incude taxi or reserve fuel. Than look in the change fuel payload menu to see how much the baron holds. You might have to make shorter legs & try crossing the big ponds at the narowest point or try island hopping. I am not sure if the baron has the range needed to cross the oceans without getting wet. 8)

Agreed.

First research the capabilities of the Baron.  How much fuel can it hold, passengers and bags, etc.  Then when you are planning, if you notice you are falling short of your destination, you will have to find something closer.

Also remember, when you are flying - don't fly with the throttle full open.  Fuel management is going to be the key to your successful flight around the world.

Good Luck. ;D

Our much-missed old friend John 'FSTipster' Consterdine had no problem flying his Baron around the world just over a year ago in a much followed adventure that he documented leg by leg on his website. Although he didn't finish the trip due to his passing it was completed in his aircraft by packercolini (Col).

So the answer is that it can be done in a Baron because it has been.

If you have info on this lets me know. I am thinking of doing some leg on internet where people will be able to join and make the trip (part of) i could post those leg here in advance so people know.

project in alpha.
departure would be in new york going north and then est, back to ussr and alaska....going down to vacouver then back to new york.

There will be a lots of hops....some of them will be fun to do together.

thank you all, I will read on what he did. if i can i will try to redo his plane. if someone as his skin for the plane. and you are fluent in skining paint I would like to fly it with is name on it.

something like "In rememberence of John Consterdine"

does someone know what happend to him? I have known many people how died while contributing a great deal to many internet site. I wish I knew him...

It will be a big challenge to redo what he did. I hope i will have the guts to see it true.
