Back in the Cockpit! virtual of course ;)

My specs yesterday:

Epox 8kha motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 1.4 ghz
Geforce 3 Ti 500 video card
512 MB DDR ram

My specs now:

Epox 8RDA3+ motherboard
AMD Athlon XP 3000+
Geforce FX 5900XT video card
512 MB of DDR memory
Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 joystick

I loaded up the flightsimulator (first time in 4 months too), launched the default flight. Things were a little choppy so I looked at the settings, and increased the frame rate lock to 20. I panned around the VC and noticed that the fps didn't drop, so I increased it to 30, same thing. I then set it at unlimited and I was getting frame rates around 45 fps. I then opened up the video settings and maxed all the sliders I could. I'm still getting 17-20 fps in Seattle with settings all on high! 8)

I havn't gotten performance like this since FS98 :o lol

I flew around Fairbanks for about 40 minutes without any problems.

It's so nice to be flying the sim again 8)

Hi Andrew...!
Congrats Mate...!

Fozzers tip...Note your "average" frame rates, and "lock" them to that.

If your max rate is 45 FPS and your min is 20 FPS try locking them to around 30 FPS, this often results in a "smoother" running program... ;)...!
Have a look at your frame rate counter while flying, if it's hovering around 30 FPS locked, then that's SMOOTH... 8)...!
...I love "smooth"... ;D...!

Cheers Andrew... ;D...!

yep, got it locked at 30, and during my test flight, I hardly ever saw it drop even slightly ;D
