Boy what a game. First want to thank all of the members of the forum for making this a great site. started out just wanting to fly alittle.
Then i noticed as I gain more expeirence my spare time decreased.
(Clean the aquarium,, naw got time to get in a quick flight). Then the quest began. I really would like to get ahold of that guy who came up with Control Z.!!!!! After a month of experimenting,a 100 bucks for Ram. I finally got an acceptble frame rate at a decent resolution. Now I find more files besides aircraft. Im now learning the wondeful world of scenery's. Does it ever end!!! Oh no just added a water texture. Now the frame rates are down AHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Just kidin guys grate site here, Only had to post a few question here. got the rest with a search.

Glad to see you are having as much fun as I am.  The world of addons is a fantastic place to be.  Remember, just when you think you have your flight sim set up perfect and you wouldn't change a thing.... You will.  I am always changing, adding, tweeking, etc.  It never ends, but it always gets better...  

Post some screenshots in the screenshot forums and show us what you are doing.

I'm with codered....... the simulator is always a work in progress..... always somethinbg to add or change.

When you are ready to really become a "sick puppy"........ stop down in the "Homebuild Cockpits Forum" to see where this terrible affliction can eventually lead.

Ratchet:  Welcome to the simulated world of simulated flying!  It is a blast isn't it....just keep reading all the threads in this forum.....and you will learn a bunch very quickly.  These members of Simviation really know their stuff, always helpful, everyone is kind and thoughtful of others, even when individuals write in "broken english" the members are very patient and eventually answer their questions.  This forum dosn't "slam" the new people like you and I when they ask a question that has an obivious answer or has been asked a million times.     Good luck, welcome aboard and stay in this forum....great site - great advise - great people.

I think I spend more time setting up and tweeking all my FSs than I do flying.  Great fun though!  I tell my wife that its beats hanging out at the bar or something.  Right now my joystick is out of commission (the one on the computer ) but I can still load up some more cool addons.

small domestic simulator,there where a lot of dissagree,
and agrees,it converted in a  hot topic,I still say the same as you What a program,when you're in a virtual cockpit a see the cities from the sky they so real,the feeling even when you're stall or about to crash is a little scary,try to learn everything you can as flying IRF,landing ILS Aproach(if you don't know this thing) here there a lots of expert that will help you whenever you want,I've beeing flying since fs98 was relased and until now where i learn everything and it knew the potencial of these programs or games here in Simviation Forums where i learn a lot believe me a LOT

I am not sure how addictive this game/simulation is but I just bought a DVD burner so I could get the download files off of my hard drive.  :)

Its a either a game or a sim in as far as you intend to use it.  I know this. My wife bought me an hour in a local full motion skyhawk simulator at a local cessna training center.  I needed no help from the instructor although he did show me the proper way to set up a NDB approach to an airport.  He also kept slamming me with the most horrid weather that you would never find in real life.  0 vis fog combined with gale speed winds?????
Anyway, I did well save for some damage to the right gear strut.  Darn cross wind.  But, since then my home simming has become such an addiction that my wife forces me to do it only when she isn't here and only when my honey do list has been done. Like I always listen to her.  righttttt.

Me again.  A few pointers.  Save some bucks if unless you have loads of disposable income and buy a CH yoke/pedals combo.  Also, a joystick with a separate throttle control is good to.  I use a Thrustmaster Afterburner.  A better one is the Saitek X-45 which is on my wish list and if you really have the bucks you can go with the Thrustmaster Couger which is a real top end ($200+ USD) "hotas" control.  Go Flight is the leader in separate avionics controls (radio stack, switch panels, autopilot, gear lever etc.  they now have a 4-6 lever throttle control, ($300 USD).  CH now has a multi lever throttle as well for less, about $200 USD.  Also, you can configure nearly any game controller to use with aircraft control.  I recommend the Belkin Nostromo, which is a combo mini keyboard/gamepad, as a cheap alternative to more expensive switch controls.  Periferals and true to life a/c (PSS A320, 330, 340, Precision Manuels 737-600, RFP 747-200, Wilco CRJ Experience) all elevate this from a game to a sim.

Hah, don't I wish my wife would allow me to go further.  she did give me an incentive.  If I quit smoking and am good with it for 6 months or more she will agree to let me buy either the goflight throttle quad or the CH unit.  Probably the CH cause its $100 less.  Thats about the most more I can hope for a sim pit.
