Has anyone been able to get auto-rotation (engine failure landing) to work on the Robinson R22 that comes with FS9. It works on the Bell helicopter but not the R22.  Perhaps someone has a fix or can point me in the right direction.

I prrsume you mean the FS9 thingy?
I don't have FS9 but I'm intrigued.  In what way doesn't it work?  How quickly are you getting that collective down?  Are you doing something 'fixed-wing' like unloading the rotor by pushing forward to get the nose down?

Just intrigued in case M$ have actually done something realistic for once.  ;)

I can do Auto-rotation on the Bell without a problem.
On the R22 when I switch off the magneto or switch off the fuel master then I am unable to get the rotar revs up. I have tried this from high altitude (3000+) so that I have time to try out a few things but even with no collective the rotor revs don't climb and I eat dirt every time.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Never tried autorotation in the Robinson but if you want a sweet craft to do autorotation in try the Gazelle. It allows you to have a complete engine off situation and still works perfectly.

Microsoft suggests you use closing of the throttle (Control+F1 or your equivelant "Propeller Idle" switch) to simulate an engine failure...not to cut off the fuel supply.
In theory though, they badly tripped over the autorotations and helicopters in general. The R22 is quite easy to autorotate in reality according to a pilot I know who has done an actual autorotation (as in the engine really failed) before. I have done practice ones before and it isn't a hard aircraft to fly with it dead. And wow is that thing rough when you first start it...
