1.-Can anyone tells me what the following with   ???  in Scenery.cfg mean:
[Area.021]
Title=Kitty Hawk Aerial Photo
Layer=21
Active=TRUE ---------------------------------- ???
Required=FALSE   ---------------------------- ???
Local=Scenery\Cities\Kittyhwk
Remote ----------------------------------------- ???
2.- I have been told that I can use a "Switch" in Scenery.cfg, to "FLATTEN an Area   after using AFCAD2, ( new airport location, for exemple.) Can anyone tell me how to activate this " Switch"
Thanks,
Bob

You are correct

Lee Swordy writes: "Also, AFCAD does not yet create flattening polygons or exclusions, so until that is available you will have to use flattening and/or exclusion switches in the scenery.cfg file or create them using another scenery tool."

May i suggest looking in Afcad-TTools forum for answers on how to add these switches.

bill

p.s. the next incarnation of AF2 will have this capability (according to Lee)

The basic principle of the Flatten switch is explained here. http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2000_articles_sceneryobjects.asp

You could also use a scenery design program like FSSC to create an Area16N Flat Area BGL. This might be the better option & avoids manually editing Scenery.cfg.
