Cleared to land....36L?

This has happened to me several times and I wonder if it has happened to anyone else. While on "final approach" at some of the larger international airports (ie. Portland, Los Vegas) etc. "with clearance to land" ~ situated a few thousand yards from the end of the runway, flaps down, gear down, doing an airspeed of about 100mph in my Mooney. Suddenly some AI commercial jet goes around me (how I don't know)....cuts in front and trys to land?
He or she gets a call from the tower requesting them to abort their landing! The AI is compliant and everything is back to normal.....what the
The tower does give me a "sort of warning" when they give clearance to the approaching (aircraft) to land on the same runway that I am trying to use. The AI responds that they are on final about 5 miles away and will be landing on the same patch of real estate that I have clearance to use! My questions are ~
A. So at that point (when you realize someone is about to eat your tail feathers off) should you abort your landing and turn out of the pattern? B. And if your are supposed to turn out of the pattern....in which direction are you supposed turn and "at full speed" I would assume? C. What are the rules governing this in real world situations?
