FS9 will not start

Win98, AMD Athln XP1800+, 512ram, 80gb and have no other problems in the PC.
FS9 worked OK for months since installed.
Suddenly it does not start, and gives this:-

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 is currently version 9.0, or FS 9 for short.
