Postby gavinprice02 » Fri Jun 25, 2004 10:42 am

Just wandering whether anyone knows any good short haul flights for use with the b737, I don't mind where it is, just that i want it to be interesting i.e. airports, scenery, approach(ILS). replys are truly appreciated.

Between European capitals is always nice, and you get to spot some famous locations along the route ;)

In my native area being the west coast of the US, my short hauls are from KSAN (San Diego), KLAX (Los Angeles), KSFO (San Fran.), KSAC (Sacramento exec.), KPDX (Portland) and KSEA (Seattle/Tacoma)

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Try flying KSEA to KSFO, more info on fsdestinations.com. Click on Search for flight, then for keyword type "cascade"  ;)

Reno/Tahoe KRNO to Vegas KLAS is a nice one if you like the desert. Reno to Frisco and Vegas to Frisco are nice ones too.

Hi I live in Scotland Uk and when Im flying the 737, 757 or A320 I fly from my Home Aberdeen (EGPD) to either London Heathrow (EGLL) of Gatwick (EGKK). British Airways fly those routes daily on those aircraft.

The route that I like is Maui (PHJH) to Honolulu (PHNL).  It is a nice short haul that Aloha does with 737-200s usually.

Oh man, there's already a great list of choices, but let me give you mine. I fly Honolulu Int'l (PHNL) to Lihue Int'l (PHLI) on Kauai. The sky, water and other secenery can't be beat when you take off and also when you come down out of the clouds to see the island of Kauai coming up to meet you. But the the approaches and airports are pretty whichever way you fly (PHNL-PHLI or PHLI-PHNL). Takes about 35-40 minutes gate to touchdown.
Awwww, crap!

Check out the Westjet home webpage(www.westjet.com) and fly between any of there destinations. All of their flights use either a 737-200 or a 737-700 but they only fly to canadian cities (with the exception of pheonix)

London Heathrow to Paris Charles-de-Gaulle is a good one because it's quite short, and it's between two of the airports modelled really well in FS.

Short flights I enjoy are flights between, KSJC KSFO, or KOAK and KSAN, KLAX, KSNA or KONT.  Also, detinations to/from KRNO, KLAS, KSEA, KPDX and the above mentioned are cool too...basically short hops up and down California/West Coast.

Hawaiian Island hopping is always fun, particularly PHNL-PHOG

Try flying the shuttle route from KLGA (NYC LaGuardia) to KDCA (Reagan National).  Fly the river visual approach to runway 19 but be sure to obey the restricted airspace.  A short flight with a challenging approach.
