FS2004 water texture problem.

Postby Galactic_eyes » Mon Jul 19, 2004 12:19 pm

I can't seem to get my water texture setting to stay at the high setting. What's going on? I just download a new water texture and I can't get it to work. Any idea's? Thanks.

Kevin

Kevin you have to compromise between high settings for land or water. Personally I set the water high and the land medium, a good idea is to install the water texture replacements by Lemoncat the file is called waterzone ;)

Is that the best one Ozzy? I tried that and I go this black problem with it. It was like it was acting strange. a black wave seemed to go right over it and it seemed worse than the original. ???

I'm interested in seeing the helps for this thread.

Did you install it correctly? It works a treat on my Ti4600.

I believe so. Do you think it might be because I on;y had 256mb ram at the time?
Maybe it will work if I reistalled it?

Don't worry Ozzy... we pulled the stick out of the other computer to give 504mb ram!!!! :o :o :o I dunno. It may be a slower speed than its partner, but boy it works heaps better!

I haven't tried it since then. Will get it done as soon as possible.

Thanks Ozzy. I did download that texture, but I'm still not getting that fluid look to the water like I've seen in other posts. Maybe I need to increase my memory as well.

I was just fixing to add that when I saw your post.
I have an
emachine(don't laugh) 2.6gig
256mb memory
Intel Extreme Graphics 3D
64MB Shared Memory

I thinking I need more memory and a faster video card.
FS9 plays fine except when I start adding textures. It starts to slow a bit.

Realistically you'll need 512mb RAM, and probably a card upgrade wouldn't hurt ;)
