MSFS quick start

Postby pooty13901 » Wed Jul 14, 2004 3:14 pm

Hi all,
I downloaded and am using the program that shuts down all unnecessary ram usage before it fires up the sim. My question is this: When I do a Ctrl-Alt-Del and pull up registry of all the programs that are using RAM juice, the only big one doing anything is "System Standby Idle" (I think is the correct phrase). Is it safe to turn this off for more RAM availibility. I'm a computer novice so I have to ask. Thanks.
Awwww, crap!

In a word ......... No!

System Idle is a part of windows that seems, as far as i can see, to either allocate tasks to idle buses or be part of the mechanism for shutting the computer down.

If it was something that should and could be shut down then FSAutostart would list it.

cheers
