How to?

I can not seem to figure out how to determine what thge wind direction is for sake of choosing a upwind runway.
I am flying from one uncontrolled airport to another in a 172.
There are no windsocks (that I can see from the traffic pattern anyway).
Thanks for any help, as I realize this is likely something that is in the Learning centre that I have just missed.

If you press shift Z it will display the wind speed & direction for where you are at. This will enable you to choose the correct runway. In order to remove the display just press shift Z untill it goes away

Make sure you are at a low enough altitude, incase the wind changes with height.  If you are flying around at 10,000 ft the wind could be different at 5,000 ft.  That is how I determine the wind direction if there is no weather observation available for a particular uncontrolled airport.

Can't you just tune in the ATIS for the wind direction and speed information at the airport you wish to land at

Big bad wolf A uncontrolled air port will not have a atis. Sometimes you can find a controlled airport close enough to the uncontrolled air port and you can use that info but it had better be real close as the wind & weather can be diferent at times.

And it seems the ATIS always tells me winds are calm.
Will have to check my settings...
