DFW Airport runway 13R?-

Postby digant » Sun Jul 04, 2004 12:31 pm

Hello everyone,

I've tried flying visual and IFR to KDFW with the wind out of 130 at 16knots.  Even then, I can't seem to get permission to land on runway 13R (I don't even see it in the list of runways I can land on, although I *can* select the 13R approach to another runway).

Can anyone else see if they can do this?  I know planes land on 13R b/c I just landed on it yesterday in real life.

--DK ??? ??? ???

I can't comment right now on FS9's DFW but the realworld airport uses 13R, the ILS/LOC is 109.5

Exactly.  I see the same information in FS9 but for the life of me, I cannot get ATC to let me land on 13R.   I only get 17, 18, 35, or 36.  Nothing else.

It's because in FS9 approach legs are coded into the system for major airports and obviously there are none in the prog for 13R.

If you want to roll your sleeves up and get into the new Scenery XML SDK you can code your own otherwise you will just have to live with it the way it is.

Can't complain too much though as the work that had to be done to cover all of the major airports, 1 or 2 rwys, for the whole world was truly massive and I guess it just wasn't possible to cover every rwy of every airport. But at least you have been given the tools to do the job.

You say that the wind at DFW is coming from 130 degrees and yet you are approaching RWY 13R. Are you sure the wind should not be coming from the opposite direction ?

Simulation is ensured for the reforms and all standards. The component of the proessaywriting reviews is held for the signals. The worth is exaggerated for the vital paths for the use of the techniques by all issues.
