When taxiing in a 747, the turn center is just outboard and aft of the #2 engine.  So just remeber to make wide turns like you where driving a 5-story tall simi-truck.  If you want, use the external spot view when taxiing, and take the turns slow.

taxiing tip from fs2000 manual: (i love them printed manuals ;D)

this is actually about the 777 (there was no 747 back then) but it's a good tip for most big airliners

"one real-world  pilot's technique for taxiing nto a runway with the 777 is to taxi towards the opposite side of the runway untill your his is over the grass on the far side, then he turns the tiller (nosegear steering) hard so that the nose comes around to the runway centerline"

on the 747 you shouldn't go so far towards the opposite side of the runway, since the 747's cockpit sits just above the nose gear, but this shoud give you a good idea of how big and long planes behave on the ground ;)

What?  The 747 has been in the air since 1969 whereas the 777 has only been flying since the early 90s.

Maybe so, but I was flying 747s and 777s in FS98.  They're hardly new with FS2K.

It was first introduced in FS in FS2002. I think it's kinda crazy because the 747 was Boeing's biggest success.

Oh, oh, oh...you're talking STOCK planes.  I gotcha now.
