I've had a similar problem with a plane I imported from CFS to CFS2, except that instead of levitating the wheels are sunk in to the runway. I'm not sure what the problem is.

other planes may not be compatabile with FS2004.
There is an entry in aircraft cfg file that deals with contact points. But I am not sure if you can fix it.
The first entry in the contact points is the one that deals with where the wheels are. You can try to alter the contact point But I am not sure if it will di any good.
But it does not hurt to try.
If the planes you speak of are not for FS2004 then you you may have other issues as well. Jet engines may have holes where the fans should be. If this is the case then there is no way to alter it. 8)

As Gary stated above, you can alter the contact points for the landing gear, you can lower it or in the case of sinking into the tarmac you can raise them. I've done it but can't remember witch entrys to alter. If you look throu the threads here you will this is not uncommon and how to fix it.

Always remember to back up the original aircraft.cfg file before making any alterations ;D

you can look in any of the default ac aircraft.cfg files to see comments that describe the values in the [contact_points] section
Or go here,
http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_downloads_sdk.asp#bgl , and download the 'Aircraft Container SDK' for a more detailed explaination.
Cheers,
Dave
