This may sound like a dumb question (it is) but I'm still new to this game

Fair warning: PAI is addictive.
Having said that, here we go.
What I do is create a separate folder on my desktop for the zip files. This keeps my desktop as clear as possible, and keeps Hyp happy.
Then I put them all in there and run the "installer" package, which is needed to run the .pai files. The installer does everything for you, which is why I absolutely LOVE PAI.
Once they're installed, get flying. You'll see planes all over the world, in locations that the real airlines fly to. For example, you're not going to see Lufthansa at Albany International Airport or your local grass strip. But you will see loads of Continental at Newark, United at Chicago, etc.
EDIT: Oops, forgot one. As for the conflicts, it's POSSIBLE. If two flight plans overlap, you could have planes riding piggy back. It's never happened to me though, because I've only ever bothered with PAI. I just don't have the patience to learn anything else. lol

Havent used PAI but use the 'aisintpackv10.zip' from page 43, it does not add more traffic.
It installs new AI commercial aircraft in real world liveries and replaces the default fictional commercial liveries in the defaulf AI flightplans. Thus if PAI doesnt mess with default traffic there should not be a conflict.
Kind of kool as when the new a/c are at their gates there are several pieces of ground support equip. at each a/c, some animated. Real world callsigns are used for the new a/c except for British Airways, which is apparently not supported by the default ATC callsigns.
Cheers,
Dave
