Cant See "Start Bar" in FS2004!

Hi everyone, I have another dumb question: I am trying to get Squawkbox set up, but I cant open it while Im in Flight Simmulator because THERE IS NO "START BAR" WHILE RUNNING THE SIMULATOR......Any ideas?

Alt+Tab will let you switch between apps.

The way I do it is to run FS in windowed mode (with alt+enter) until everything for VATSIM is up and running, and then I run everything entirely in full screen mode.
