aluminum aircraft too white

Postby yancovitch » Thu May 13, 2004 5:09 pm

hi. .....may have been answered before forgive me, but i noticed that aluminum aircraft seem too glaring white in the sun in fs9 where as in fs2002 they look great.

just in case....pent 4-1.8
asus p4t-e intel 850 mainboard
512 rdram g-force 4 tit. 4200.....  by the way....within the limits of this system, how far can i go to upgrade this video card.  .....(getting average 15-20 fps)
another by the way.....would extra ram (if findable) make any difference?
thanks for your attention...............vic.
i7-7700k ....msi geforce gtx 1060....msi z270 gaming m5 lga 1151 motherboard....CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) ram.....

Fs2004 handles the metal textures differently, the aircraft need new skins for it. try and get 2004 versions of the planes or find out how to repaint/ reset the reflective layer in the textures for the planes.

This will be due to the alpha channel in the paint of that aircraft.

Which plane is it? Bill lyons swift for fs2002 works fine in FS2004 but glows white.

Click link below to download it.

Note there fix for the classic Swifts are in there too!

I dont have the F-86 so cant change it.

I dont know any sites for learning about re-paint, I just kinda picked it up and asked a friend about bits here and there.
