On a whim, I decided to try something new last night for some added realism.
I reversed the axis of my throttle, giving me a much more realistic collective control...
But what amazed me is though it took some getting used to, it actually made flying the helicopter much, much easier.
Just thought I'd share!

I've tried that before but for me, it made no difference. I guess it's because (based on my equipment) it's not an up-down motion.
I have a fore-back motion on my throttle. I have a Saitek x45 HOTAS.
I wonder if unassigning the x45 throttle and assigning the collective to a lever on my GoFlight TQ-6 would work better. But my flight deck console is on my right so I'll have to work out that issue.
Thanks for the idea.

I've also got the X-45....worked like a charm for me. It's much easier to adjust the collective in small increments.
It could be because my mind isn't looking at it as a normal throttle, so it's not as tempted to throw it all the way forward, who knows?

How do you reverse the axis on the X-45. I've looked the profile editor over and can't find any way of doing it.

I stumbled on it. It's in FS, in your assignments screen....there's an option to reverse the axis. Works like a charm. I'm even landing on rooftops now with no problems. lol
