Can you be more specific. Which types of aircraft do you fly? Props or jets, taildraggers or nosewheel, single or multi-engined, jet airliners? Defaults or addons? Also, if you use one which type of joystick? With or without a separate rudder control? There are so many variables.

You haven't said what controller you use, If it's a joystick, you probably have your stick left and right move the ailerons to turn the plane, without the AUTO-RUDDER enabled in the realism settings.

Aileron doesn't turn the plane on the ground, Rudder does, and the rudder is linked to the nose wheel (which turns) on that type of aircraft.

Auto- rudder is fine for the absolute novice flyer, but you'll soon want a seperate rudder control.

You can configure keys to move the rudder, but it's best to have a TWIST GRIP joystick, (a 4th axis..... ie. Pitch, Roll, Yaw, Throttle ....where Yaw is the rudder and also the turning nose wheel).

Taildragger types need to be turned with a combination of Rudder and/or wheel brakes.

Wheel Brakes are a very effective way of steering planes on the ground, (less effective with nose wheeled airplanes, and they are nearly impossible to turn at low speeds without the aid of a turning nosewheel.

You need to configure seperate wheel brakes in the controller settings for left and right brakes, set the brakes to the mid position on the sensitivity slider and not the high setting for more realism.

And you shouldn't have.  If you're on the ground you're going to WANT your rudder controlled manually so you can turn. ???

Excellent point.  I forget about other people's set ups sometimes.  lol
