I think you might find you have trouble running FS9 on the machine you describe.
Have you got a video card installed, and if so, which one?

With a cpu runing at that speed a top of the line video card wont help you. You will have a hard time getting descent frame rates. And if you throw in any kind of weather at all your frame rates are going to crawl.
If it were me I would not try to run FS9 on this system as it is going to dissapoint you.
I think it might be time for a new or newer computer.

Anything less than 32MB is going to struggle real bad on this sim.

I suspect we all have spare parts, it just weather or not to buy them from a person on a chat forum.
If you need a upgrade then seek out a good shop or otherwise forget it , hope this helps.

Is there such a thing as a chat forum? I've heard of chat rooms, and I've heard of forums...but a hybrid of the two...that's new.

Well, I have the same problem.
I have an AMD 2GHz, an Nvidia FX 5700, 512 MB of memory, and my frame rate in Seattle, with all the display slides to maximum, is only 11 frames per second.
Microsoft says the system is more than enough. I have the latest NVidia drivers, the latest DirectX, the latest stuff from HP for my system, and it still is slow in heavy scenery areas.
Any clues as why?
Thanks
Fern

I run a P4 2.0 with 650MB RAM and an FX5200 128MB card....I get about 10-15 in spot view with full sliders. I suspect that's about all you're going to get with your system...but really, that's not THAT bad. It could most definitely be worse!
