Depending which card you have, add one of the following lines to your diplay.cfg file at the end of the GeForce 2 section:
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 460
[000010DE:00000170]
DriverValidate2=1
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
[000010DE:00000171]
DriverValidate2=1
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420
[000010DE:00000172]
DriverValidate2=1
This fixed the problem in 2k2, lets just hope it works in FS9
