Ive noticed that when I am either about to take off or I am climbing on IFR flight in the Stratojet Excalibur, my pc just restarts on it's own. Has anybody experienced this?, can anybody help me?

The only time I had problems with my 'puter restarting spontaniously was when I was having CPU overheat problems.
Have you played 3D games on your computer before? What I'm trying to get at is if this is the first time you've spent any length of time playing a 3D game, your CPU may be overheating by doing 3D work. If this is the situation, you may need to consider buying a new cooling fan for your CPU.
This is the only thing I can think of right now.

It cant be because:
A) Ive been running FS2004 since it was released,
B)I can play Battlefield 1942 without any major problems (fps is the only thing)

There still could be a heat problem because FS is a verry grafic intense prog. Besides it wont take but a couple of min. to find out just take the case off and have a look at your power supply fan . These have a tendencey to get clogged up with dust and can slow them down and even stop them after a while. you will need a can of air . Do not forget to check any cpu fan or grafic card fan if you have them.
i have the same problem too

How much free space do you have on your hard drive

If after reformatting a hard drive you are still having problems then you either have a faulty power supply or a mother board problem. Have you added any new hardware that was not there before such as changing cd rom drives or replacing a monitor. I recently changed cd rom drive as the old one I had was very slow.
After changing when I restarted my system it kept shutting down after awhile. I found out that my old power supply was rated at 250 watts and was not strong enough to handle the change I replaced it with a 300 watt power supply and have had no proplems since

I had a similar problem, computer would just reboot itself every now and again but only on FS9.
For me the cause turned out to be memory, I had upgraded from 512MB pc2100 ram to 1024 pc3200 ram
Took me ages to figure out I had a compatability problem with my motherboard. Swapped for 1024 pc2100 and now everything runs fine.

I have this problem too.. My computer resets when playing FS9 sometimes. I don't think it is a overheating cpu issue though, Ihave quite a bit of cooling, and I am not overclocking, and have temperature monitoring software. I can overclock from 1.8 to 2.2ghz and get much higher temperature and still have a stable system, but MS FS9 seems to reset with no overclocking whatsoever with just above average temps (sure cause it is cpu intensive maybe average is 40C FS9 drives it up to maybe 45-50C which is normal on any AMD system.... I think there is a flaw maybe encountered on AMD systems??????? Do you guys all have AMD cpus too??
