ATI releases 4.4's

Postby cavity » Thu Apr 08, 2004 12:46 pm

ATI has released the 4.4's and they say it fixes the corruption when switching from 2d to 3d modes.  Ive never had a problem there, but thought it might help others.  Thanks, Todd

So I have seen no responses to this post yet.  I am curious, who is going to be the gunnie pig.... ;D

I downloaded them yesterday, and considering giving them a try to see if there is anything worth while.

I downloaded them last night. Thanks for the post.

   I'm using a Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB on a P4 3.2GHz with Win2k SP4.

It's true, my monitor no longer wigs out when switching to 3D mode.  Also, most of my aircraft's shadows dissappear while on deck of a carrier.  Now they show up at certain views.

I'll add additional comments as I discover them.

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

codered,

Why of course........

be da ginea pig!

I'll sit back and wait.

Every single version I have "upgraded" on the 9600 pro and the 9800 XT has dropped me at least 1 fps.

Come on now, give me a little credit.  I have to admit I am a little gun shy, I too have had my share of problems with the drivers.  I have the crash to desktop going on after the 4.3, so I might roll back to 3.9's.  For those of you who are brave enough, please keep us updated.  John, please dont try these, no one deserves to go through the driver problems that you have!!!  At least the flicker is gone, and most people are having stable performance, although a bit slower than we would prefer.  Happy flying this weekend!  Todd

Skittles.... you're brave  .  How long you been an ATI user?

Probably about a year, not sure. Long enough to burn up a card due to the sorry stock fan. I still have the previous drivers incase I have probs with the new ones.  Brave... maybe, but not stupid. ;D
