would be to make a way to delete planes from the 'Select Aircraft' Menu.  That way you can get rid of crap planes without having to dig for them... ::) :P

I think there are at least 2 freeware utilities that do this for you.
I don't use them but I am sure I have seen them come through the New Files list.

Another idea for 2006 is a change in the weather...wouldn't that be cool if you could fly through hurricanes or tornadoes ect? :o Would be nice if the clouds would cast shadows, too.

Just delete (or cut and save.. just in case) their folders from the aircraft folder.

I think he was hoping for something to avoid having to dig them out of the folder-something to delete them while the game is running without going to the desktop.

Thanks Richie, that's exactly what I meant.   :)

As for software to install planes, there are several freeware utilities out there to install them for you.  I thoink, however, that as you get more experience, you'll find you want to install them manually as some installers automatically over write files and that is never a good thing unless you know exactly what is being over-written.  It also gives you the opportunity to clean out the folder as it were, and get rid of any unneeded documentation or jpegs the author might have stuck in there.

No offense, but I hope there isn't. ;)

I personally like to manually install, delete, or modify anything in my flightsimulators.

Don't you remember, MS did attempt to create a program for adding, changing, or removing aircraft. The result was FS Edit, and it turned out to be the buggiest piece of crap i've had on my pc in a long time.

So instead of trusting things like that to MS, i'd much rather do it myself manually ;D

I wish atlantic city looked better. The default scenery looks like crap. The south Jersey scenery in general looks like crap.

FS Edit was meant for editing airfiles, and not meant to work in the game.  All I am suggesting is a button to let you delete a plane without having to dig through the folders for it.

I think a favorites category would be more useful.

Trust me on this now but later you'll be glad you learned to do it manually. Not all installers work exactly right and sometimes they can really foul things up.

Once you install an airplane with an automatic installer and spend two or three days trying to ge ACOF to work right again and finally end up reinstalling the whole sim plus your add on scenery and airplanes, you'll be glad to install them manually after that.

Whenever I get a plane with an .exe installer I usually point it to another folder "Temp Install" and then copy the files manually into the sim. That way I know what's being overwritten and where everything goes in case it messes things up.

I've also seen guages from one plane that are older versions of the same guage I have in my "Guages" folder. I usully check the modified date and only overwrite the least recent guage. This has saved me from guages that used to work and later end up crashing the sim.
