anyone using FSNavigator??

I'm thinking of trying this out, but am wondering if it uses up much in the way of resources.
My system runs the sim perfectly but with 512 megs of memory, I don't have much to spare.
Just wondering if anyone using it has noticed much of a hit on frame rates or performance.

Runs just fine on mine. I only have 512ddr ram too.

I use FsNav all the time with no problems however make sure you don't run it in minimized window mode as it will cause FS2004 to slow down - instead switch between FsNav and FS2004 using the "F9" key (as assigned automatically by FsNav when you install it).

New here - great website and breath of fresh-air around these forums compared to some other sites I could (but won't) mention!

I've used it. But only to plan a flight. Kinda like looking at charts (printing if needed). You can accomplish that much using the map/planner that comes with FS9.

Running it while in flight is cheating on the highest level. Like having a chart on your lap that magically puts an icon(moving) right where you are. To me.. 90% of the fun is flying by visual and instrument reference. I won't even run the GPS.. which again.. shows you right wherer you are.

Taking off in marginal weather (with a well planned flight.. notes for all the nav-aids enroute).. dealing with worsening weather and winds aloft... flying for an hour or two and descending out of the clouds.. right where you need to be.. is about as much fun as you can have in the sim. Following a moving map isn't much of a challenge.

I use mine for flightplanning then exporting to my PMDG FMC.

For VFR I use my CAA VFR nav charts and JustFlight VFR scenery!

I can do that, but not without my GPS yet....
