Aircraft initialization failure?

I downloaded a 763-300 from projectopensky which I didn't have much luck with(no sound,GPS,radio stack, etc)  so I deleted it.  When I start FS now I get this window in the opening screen that says "Aircraft initialization failure" and I am unable to proceed any further.

So I downloaded it again, no message at the opening screen, but still missing sound, GPS, radio stack etc.  I deleted it again, but same result in the opening screen.  "Aircraft initialization failure"  and the only thing I can do is close the window, which closes out FS.

I've also had this happen with another aircraft I downloaded (not from Projectopensky) and tried to delete with the same result.

Any help appreciated.

Hi,

1)Was the a/c  complete with all folders and files?

2)When you deleted it did you remove the complete download?

3)Try again- but before you add the a/c to FS9 unzip into a temp folder and check all is there.

4) Just a few of the Boobs I've made in the past-once I downloaded a textures only file-wouldn't fly at all ::)

Best of luck

Warthog. I've never come across this problem before. It might be caused by the method you use to install aircraft. It's best to take Aeronut's advice & unzip all downloaded files to a Temp folder first. Then find the correct folder & paste it into the sim.

Try it again using the same method as before. If you still get the error message select another aircraft & fly it before exiting FS9. Then delete the problem aircraft making sure you remove the correct folder.

By any chance, did you designate it as the default aircraft after you loaded it the first time?

You may have to delete the FS9.cfg file and then start FS2004 to get things back to the way they were.

Thanks for all the input.

Hagar your suggestion of selecting another a/c and flying it before exiting, then deleting, seems to have done the trick.

I've since downloaded a couple more a/c from Projectopensky (not the 767-300 I was having probs with) and have had no trouble with them.

Thanks again all
