HELP PLEASE - CAN'T FIND MY PANELS

Postby AKASTUDY » Mon Feb 23, 2004 2:08 pm

Hopefully you guys can help me.
I have recently reinstalled FS2004. When I select any of the default aircraft there is no panel, just a black strip where it should be. If I go to "views", "view option",  "cockpit view", then "view direction" they all show the instrument panel, but "forward view" shows nothing. Selecting virtual cockpit works fine. I have tried this with all aircraft with the same result. Your help would be much appreciated.

regards

Hello AKASTUDY and welcome to simV!  ;D For a simple suggestion. Toggle to the cockpit view, now press "W". This will toggle through three different cockpit view modes. Full cockpit, Only main gages view and no guages at all. Maybe you hit the "W" by accident. Hope this helps!!

Dave,

Thanks for the welcome and prompt reply. I tried the "w" and the screen changes from the full runway view to half runway and half black screen (where the panel should be)!
I have just noticed, the panel is missing when  "full screen" view is selected. If I uncheck "full screen" the panel re-appears?

Tony.

I had a prob similar to that. I downloaded the last graphic card driver and it is fixed.

As a sidenote I also had....melting panels it was interesting lol.

Definately want to give the graphic card driver suggestion a try. ACOF had that problem when it was first released and people with some graphic cards had to wait until a new driver release to see their panels. I think though they got the panels when they used ACOF in Window Mode but the new drivers fixed it for full screen.

Gentlemen,

Many thanks for all your help. Well done. D ;Drivers was the answer. My FS 2004 now displays the main panel. I did not think I would need to go for any drivers as the card (FX9000) is brand new. Just goes to show, downloading drivers needs to be done on a regular basis. Something I forgot.

Thanks again.
