I have to say ..... it appears that EVERYONE is "right" on this one. What we have here is similar to what happens when you look at something from differing angles .... parallax error, somesuch, and all that it implies.

Hardly a decay. I would say it's more of a maturing.
There are some of us that have been here for ages. I'm sure a lot, if not most also keep an eye on other forums as well.
I lot of us are still with FS2004 for various reasons, some of us also have other sims or have found those sims wanting, hence still with FS2004.
Garry Smith has been mentioned here a few times. Thanks to Garry (& Ed) with their Ford Tri-Motor project, updated always posted on Simviation (& others), our FS2004 has been revitalised, with a range of paints, scenery & projects, both factual & fictional, that include a Black Hawk project, Fordlandia & more recently, sloping runways, ramps & ski ramps & much more. It's worth a look.
There are, of course others that contribute to making our FS2004 very special to us.
So a decay of Simviation? With all the forums & knowledge base's, I think not.

¿DECAY? Not so, sometimes even in FS world, we get tired of technology & go back to basics for a while. Below is my first Flight Sim, still operational with or without electricity, fiber optics, WiFi's, modems...

We are not bloggers, but real world fliers or skydivers with NO MONEY to go spending in the rain... (and have to do house daily cores: cleaning, cooking, VW Combi-T2 maintenance, helping the young blonde neighbor in distress... ) So in our free time, we play Simulation!! Blogging is for problem solving

Like Doug, (Hagar), I have spent most of my life here since 1998, every day, since;...>>> http://simviation.com//thestrip/flightsimdownload.htm ;

Through various Forum upgrades over the years, (Ultraboard, etc,) watching various Members come and go, many of them good friends, but as Doug points out, they have now got other things to do, and places to go!

But new Members are constantly appearing on the scene, and we hope that they enjoy their time here, learn something new, and above all...

.....Have Fun!....(Don't take stuff too seriously!)... ...!

I am a registered Member at a number of other Forums, Flight Sim and otherwise, but Sim V has always been booked-marked as; "Most Visited".

A grand set of Members always enjoying themselves.

Paul.... ....!

I've been here since 2010 and have found this to be the best site by far, the members are kind, friendly and very helpful. Not only do we have a great forum but also access to some of the best freeware planes, scenery etc.

Long may the site continue

Cheers
Rich

And a great sense of humour, unlike another site, where banter is banned. Love it here.

"Humour" is an every-day event in Sim V...

...and common to all its Members...

Which makes it different!

...and I love it, too!... :D ...!

Paul.... ... ...!

Many FS 2004 - A Century of Flight related posts are posted daily in other Forums, like the Board index ‹ Graphic Gallery or the Board index ‹ Design Forums to mention but a few; that acounts for the "no posts" in FS 2004. Many times, instead of posting new, I read the solution to my problem in another post and go back to Simming.

We have some designer sites dedicated to FS 2004 - A Century of Flight like the very active & fun Ford Tri-Motor Project - or the very VANiSHED like Lynn & Bill Lyons (Golden Wings for FS2004 (GW3) - The Old Hangar), just to give a few examples. They make Simming FUN & environmentally diverse, like "real life" action (or time travel if you prefer  ).
