Jump Ramp Heaven for FS2004 simmers...... <<q

Hi Good People,

I have been experimenting over the last few months in trying to create a Jump Ramp concept for FS2004. After lots of tinkering I got it all worked out.

Image

I created a new piece of scenery at a remote location Ford-Timor and then really went wild in creating a plethora of unique ramps over 6 different layers in one pack.

This scenery pack is a fun experiment in Jump Ramp development - to get aircraft to launch into the air. Many different angles and many different challenges for your fun flying pleasure.

Contains lots of small and large Jump Ramps, a couple of Ski Ramps and a Grass up/down Hill Runway.

Also contains an Aircraft Carrier with two jump ramps and an Airship with a runway and jump ramp on top.

Then to top it off I altered some of the Ford Project Teams other scenery to incorporate some ramp in them as well and added the updates into the Ford-Timor.zip file.

Altered Scenery Packs, Ford-Blackhawk, Ford-Brazil and Ford-Switzerland.

Slideshow to show you what is included: http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/Slideshows/JUMP_RAMP_HEAVEN.html

The Ford-Timor.zip file is now available Via the SIMVIATION libraries and of course on the scenery page at http://www.ford-tri-motor.net

Absolute fun flying and some great challenges for takeoff and landings.

Regards from your Ford Tri-Motor Project Team

This is fantastic fun I was missing badly since a long while. Only PROBLEMiTA: the aircraft Carrier View Nr. 1 is O.K. BUT for Carrier View Nr. 2 & View Nr 3 I do not have such Carrier included in Ford-Timor (I just downloaded it & installed it again half an hour ago).

Promeses, promeses...

Wasn't this thing "announced" awhile back? Is this the same package as before? Is it Deja Vu?

Hi Jean,

The carrier stuff is definitely in the zip file - my only guess, from looking at your pictures, is that you have some sort of mesh or elevation change to the water in your simulator that causes the carrier to not appear at sea level. I use the stock standard FS2004 scenery with no third party enhancements.

If everything else is working fine then I would recommend that you keep your mesh enrichments and forgo the Carrier - you should not alter what you like just to see one model and use a couple of ramps. Plenty of other ramps to enjoy.

For Captain Midnight.

A couple of weeks ago I released (via the Ford Tri-Motor Project site only) Ford Timor and the Jumps - basically a concepts release - however then I really got stuck in and enriched the entire project Too many changes to list them all - but the project is now at a level that was tested and suitable for a wider audience - hence the release of the NEW version to the Four Major flight sim sites and of course the update is also available now on the Ford Tri-Motor Scenery page.

Regards and happy simming - with some jumps.......

Good deal. Thanks for the clarification.

On a mountaintop, high above a large city, stands the headquarters of a man devoted to the cause of freedom and justice... a war hero who has never stopped fighting against his country's enemies... a private citizen who is dedicating his life to the struggle against evil men everywhere... CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT!

This is quite a breakthrough. However, I just downloaded the updated file & have the same problem as Jean. No carrier. Are we missing something?
I have the basic FS2004 with no extra mesh installed.

Hi Hagar,

Now you have me intrigued - the Carrier Model, the relevant AFCAD and the Carrier Placement files are definitely in the zip - the only thing that comes to notice is that the Carrier is the biggest model in the scenery pack but I have had much bigger models in other scenery.

The carrier is a very obvious one to notice missing - but have you checked the Mountain and Grass runways (two levels) to see if they are there and working correctly - similar to the shots in the slideshow. If not then there is a problem which might help diagnose the issue.

Very hard to diagnose with only two people highlighting the missing carrier, one declaring a "standard" environment. Would help if others let me know if they have the carrier showing or not in their systems.

If others are not seeing the Carrier then I can investigate and try and resolve - but if only a couple are not seeing it then it would imply that something is unique on their machines.

Feedback would be welcome so that I can make this enjoyable for as many as possible.

Regards

Garry

Hi Garry. All is working correctly except for the carrier.

Image

FTMC is not listed on the Airport selection menu.
Image

This is a shot of my Ford-Timor\Scenery folder. The AFX_FTMC.bgl seems to be missing.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mate,

From the file listing it appears that you are missing all of the new stuff that I created - looks like a listing of the old Ford-Timor package --- when/where did you download the Ford-Timor package.

If you downloaded it from the Ford Site prior to 15 July then you have the old one - updated everything on the 15 July.

Recommend you download it again from the Ford site or here at Simviation.

That's odd. I downloaded it yesterday & again today from the Scenery page on your website. http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/scenery.htm

Image

PS. I just downloaded it from Simviation. That's better. 8-)

I'm off to check it out.

That's good news - I will check the zip on the Ford Server and fix it if it is the wrong one.

Regards and thanks for the heads up....
