Jean Loup wrote:Back to topic: FS 2004 has a default position for MAP & TOWER views, installing the Control Tower at ONE O'CLOCK from the aircraft, on either take off side of any strip. When in TOWER view mode, the screen is watching that aircraft's starboard at a 30º angle, wich corresponds with the ONE o'clock position of the MAP. I believe this condition can be corrected, because I found two addon sceneries were this default config does not apply: DUXFORD & FORD de HAVILLAND. Both MAP & TOWER views, have consistent Control Tower positions (not at one o'clock from the aircraft take off position).

I installeds briefly the FSX Demo that my Lap handles with very LOW configuration, just to put this 1 o'clock angle in Tower & Map views: it has been well corrected in FSX!!

All is forgiven from me if everyone will forgive my outburst  . It has been a very difficult month for me, my fuse way too short and sense of humor almost non-existent  . Now, I'm going to fire up FS9 and do some flyin'. :romance-grouphug:

Amazing. A fellow simmer asks a question, and all he gets is lip service and remarks from some wannabe comedians.
But you folks who think your comedy (ha) is helpful or even wanted when someone asks a question or seeks help is somewhat annoying.
Maybe admin needs to open a section of the forum for you clowns to practice your nonsense, and leave the rest of the forum as for those wishing to actually help the ones seeking same.

I for one do not see any harm in a little humor as long as it is in good taste and no harm is intended. Some of the post here lately have really gotten out of hand for sure. But life is to short to be all stiff and business like all the time. And some wise person said a little laughter can not harm no one. But it can be a touchy thing as it can be taken the wrong way and feelings get hurt.
I would like to think that most of the people here do not mean to stomp on any ones toes or upset any one with what they post.

I must say that since I joined Simviation in Sun Nov 11- 2012, it's the first time I get targeted like this. We have to remember there are not enaugh moderators on this forum, Pete is still awaiting a volunteer (take a chair & have snacks at hand  ). Meanwhile, I put the wannabe comedian in FOE cathegory so his humorous?? resentement & frustration doesn't access my computer any more.

Back to TOPiC: maybe I am boring every one with something very well know to most simmers!! To my ignorance, this Control Tower standard in FS 2004 is new, seems corrected in FSX. Also, the Duxford scenery FS2004 (http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1 ... rd&x=0&y=0) has placed it's Control Tower correctly. Maybe it's configurable in standard FS2004?

Never boring, Jean Loup, always interesting.
We tend to forget that this is supposed to be a fun hobby. If some of us are not happy with some of our comments, is it really neccessary to chastise us? Why not either join us or ignore us? It is like having a teacher in our play ground that is stopping us having fun.
Yes, I do agree that personal attacks are a no no.

You sound like a very wise and sensible man, Mr. Z. I'm afraid many people define simming as who they are, rather than just something they do. It is usually those people who "get their feelings hurt" so easily.

P.S.

Very good, I posted when Lockheed Aircraft had a flair for design into the Screenshot forum. I found Larry Grossman's Tin Goose Dinner to be the perfect splash screen for this project:
