Back to topic!!

After the Manchukuo scenery from Garry & Ed, I've decided on a brand new install if Fs9 using all the Ford Project stuff (& Miltons as well).
So far, I've installed another version of FS9, added Silver Wings textures & have all the downloads needed.
Now to start installing the scenery, then the planes.

I already have a version of Golden Wings, & I thought that, as the Ford Project stuff is so amazing, it deserves a unique install.

Wait for the next exciting episode.....

Cheers, Robin

Well, the first instalment was finding my FS9 box, putting the first disk in, listening to it clunking away for about an hour before telling me to put disk 2 in. It went faster after that. Then installing the update & running it.... Black screen. Then I realised that, as I am running Windows 10, I had to run FS9 in Windows mode.
S0, episode 1 - Done & dusted.

Texas Rangers, INS and Homeland Security request you provide your current address. They wish a meet and greet with you ASAP.

I wish them good luck. Today is my 73rd Solar Orbit, I was 2 years old when WWII was lost. :violin: :violin: :violin: That request, meet, greet & ASAP is 71 years old  Funny that I flew with the NOW DERELiCT Confederated Air Force. But yankee doodle did not like that name! They were renamed as Consolidated Air Force :snooty: :snooty: :snooty: (like if they only had PBY's!!)

UPS!! They were renamed Commemorative Air Force Sorry... :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:

Hi Jean,
To make my Ford Project sim look a bit different, I'm also using the UI from Golden Wings & a new loading screen as well.

I'm using, as a test, the Silver Wings textures. I have not yet installed the full scenery set as I have been ill with flu, but I have most in my Golden Wings installation that I will be removing. I'm keeping the sim only for Ford stuff, but I think I will add Milton's planes later as well. Just because they are on the site anyway.

How big is your installation so far, & are you using all the scenery, India, Fordlandia, Blackhawk etc & planes?

My next plan is to make a list of all the airports so far, so it will be easier to choose any of them, & maybe even plan a flight using all. It will be nice to have a world map with all the Ford Project airports marked.

Kind Regards,
Robin

HOLA ZSWOBBiE1, I will include also Milton's aircraft (I like his Aero Commander "Smugglers Dream") & Mike Stone aitcraft as well, the whole Project mafia will be included. So far I am at the install-test flight-correct stages.

I just finded out that, no mater what airport/aerodrome one chooses in FS 2004, the Tower position on the MAP view, will be put at aircrafts 1 o'clock, positioning the aircraft at either side of the runway: the Control Tower will ALLWAYS BE at 1 o'clock from the aircraft! On any other view, the Tower is visible where it shoul be, EXCEPT the TOWER ViEW, that depends on the MAP view position and does not match the Tower position in Cockpit, Virtual Cockpit, Spot Plane & Top-down view modes. This is a 2004 configuration mode, I don't know if this was corrected in FSX (and on earlier Microsoft FS, I don't know either).

TWO EXCEPTiONS I FOUND so far, among addon sceneries: Duxford & Ford de Havilland. Who knows how or with what program they configured their Control Towers?? Maybe British construction methods are Avant Garde...

NOTE (Sorry, no more screenshots: seems they hurt the eyes of the screen watching comunity!!) :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:
