This may not have a direct connection to your particular problem,but it does male a valid point.
I am almost never satisfied with the panels on the downloads. I like all the bells and whistles I can add.
That being said, I added a couple gauges to a couple panels I made. They were for APU and GPU.
My aircraft would start up all engines just find,but as soon as I started to taxi,one of the engines would shut down.
I come to find out that if I forgot to close the GPU door switch,it would kill one of the engines.
It took me a white to figure what was going on,but if you make your own panels and have a lot of gauges available to play around with,you sometimes run across some gauges that do funny things when added to an aircraft that has strange figures in their mdl file. AND,some gauges combinations act strange if they are one the same panel,...creating conflict.
