If an airplane crashed in the FS2004 Forum ....... would it make any sound? ....... as it appears that no one is here to hear it most of the time.

Just wondering ...... listening to the Sounds of Silence

I suspect that we FS 2004 Pilots have had our copy of FS 2004 for so many years now, that we have sorted out any tiny little problems that we had, long, long ago, to the extent that our aircraft, (and FS 2004), are so reliable now, that they no longer crash!.... :D ....!

Paul....FSX and FS 2004....and FS 2002!.... ...!

For the record, FS 2004 works just fine here in the Intermountain West.

Now, if I wouldn't be so scared to just turn it on and use it!

Alan :?

There you go....

...see... ;) ....

FS 2004 works fine in Britain, Europe, and the mountains, deserts, flora, and fauna of Alan's Colorado!

A very happy band of FS 2004 Pilots from all around the World!

My graphic card reaches 84 ºC with FSX or P3D, not more than 65 ºC with FS9...

I'm in the north of Spain, today winter has arrived... Is time to play FSX/P3D..., extra heating.

There will come a time when 'FS2004' forum is demoted down the page to the 'Old Flight Simulator Series' ..... :D :violin: :violin: :violin: Maybe that time is approaching ..... :D

Simviation tends to have more FSX users than FS2004 (Way more - FSX files will typically have 4x in a day & 50x the number of downloads over time) - and as Fozzer says, FS2004 has been around a long time so there is little new to be learned.

FS 2004 (and FS 2002) always brings back happy memories of MS Flight Simming for me... :D ...!
A time when Sim Pilots could always get together.

The early days of "Dial-up Internet", when Uncle Bill and his design team, designed the Flight Sims for built-in, easy access to "Multiplayer" so that we Sim Pilots could always get together for group flights and a Chat together!

The introduction of "Gamespy" in FSX for Multiplayer connection spelt the end for easy access to Multiplayer, and so the enthusiasm for Multiplayer never did take off again like it did in the past!

Running "FSHost Spy" reveals that even the FS2002/FS2004 (and FSX) crowd rarely seem to get together in Multiplayer any more!.... ...!

Flight Simming has become very insular now, where Pilots only take part in their own solo flights, and the collective effort of flight training, group tours, fun and frolics, etc, are now lost in the distant past!

The times they are a-changing......and the reason why I just like to fire up my trusty FS 2004 now and again, remember my old friends, and enjoy a flight with memories from the past!

....silly old me!.... ...!

Paul....with FSX.... ...!

Just "screen shots", seems to be the order of today?

Well .... hate to say it ..... but "Pete" seems to be a messenger of doom and gloom.
Hey Pete, you need to get out more often. The "other" FS2004 forums appear to be quite a bit more "lively" than this one. Same flight sim .... hmmmmmm.
Just say'n

I'm talking about this site. We get way more downloads for FSX than FS2004 - so obviously way more FSX users at simviation. Only a small fraction of our site users and members are active members of this forum. I suspect many do read but don't take part. I gather some of the other sites get more FS2004 downloads than FSX - but not here.
I have no interest in other forums and I gave my FS2004 away to a mod here many years ago.
FS2004 was/is a great sim -- I loved it.. But moved to FSX when it came out. Never had problems with FSX like some other did. Each to their own.

PS. I did have my old FS2004 installed but lost it due to a HD death. Sometimes I'm tempted to buy a copy on ebay -- and maybe some even older ones now - but I suspect I would't really use them .... :ugeek: 8-)

The FS2004 Forum Gang of Five .... as listed above ..... reject your reality and substitute our own. FS2004 still reigns as "King" of all flight simulators. If Queen Elizabeth can reign over Britain at such an advanced age ...... FS2004 can also do so.
Make it so!

The fact is.... there are always more new Downloads for FSX than for Nine; just look at the other FS Sites! However, there are still many who Model for Nine, like Milton Shupe, Paul Craig, A.F. Scrub, TDS, and others.

Personally, I think Nine is still a very viable FS Platform. If it isn't, why are there so many out there who have inquired about making Nine work in W10?

Just my very humble opinion, but relegating Nine to the "Old Flight Simulator Series" area at the bottom of the page would be a very bad mistake.
