AI AC disappear after landing

I dont know what happened. I havent changed anything in my FS9 at all. Things ran great. I added a few more AC to fly and have doing great. Then,..I noticed that the ai aircraft come in for a landing,...land,...and after a couple seconds, they disappear. EVERY ai ac that lands disappears every time. Other than that,my FS9 preforms as always. What may have happened? Anyone have a clue,...or at least have an idea where I could check to find out? For now,I think I'll check the files (air traffic files) thru the program, Traffic Tools. Thanks folks // stephan ( Altitude With Attitude <<s )

Try turning the traffic percentage down to 50% or lower. If it solves the issue, you have too many aircraft running schedules to accommodate time taxiing.

Thanks as always. I had my ai percentage down to 67%. But,again,I didnt change any flights from when it ran like it was supposed to. It is as if the sim just took a notion to start doing this. I've added or changed nothing to cause this. I DID have a glitch that required the 3 finger salute to restart my computer,so maybe one of the cfg files (not an ac or ai ac cfg file) became corrupt. Problem still exists.

The cause of any AI plane disappearing immediately after landing is that there is no free parking position available for the size (parking radius) of the AI plane concerned. So, either increase the number of parking positions at the airport in question or increase the sizes of some of them, preferably both.
This issue has nothing to do with the active AI percentage.

Good luck

This is absolutely the reason for the AI disappearing like this. The other common problem with AI is it disappearing while waiting to take off this is usually caused by a incorrectly placed hold short on the taxi way or no hold short at all. The only way to fix this problem is to edit the Airport and either add a hold short or move it to the proper place. This drove me nuts for awhile before I figured it out. The way to spot this kind of problem is to go to the airport with the problem is and create a simple flight and than when ATC tells you to taxi to the active runway and hold short you will notice that you will never get the option to request for take off because there is no hold short for that runway.
Every runway must have a hold short for it or you will never get the request to take off from ATC and AI aircraft will disappear after a while as it has no place to go to.

I have several airport modification programs, and I think all speak of the loss of ai ac upon landing if no parking is available, and hold short nodes can cause a disappearing act after several minutes,so I am already up on that possibility and that isnt my problem. Again, I had no problem with my KCLE or other airports (KCLE is the only AP I modified)These problems were avoided by my adding quite a few extra parking and gates to KCLE (Cleveland Hopkins Airport) simply for more realism. And I've added no extra flights to the stock plans. As a matter of fact, a couple months ago,I eliminated quite a few flights into and out of KCLE to clear out some of the traffic in that area using the Traffic Tools program. My computer runs 24/7 . I seldom shut it off, except to clean the fans and filters, and FS9 is always running, even if it runs in the background while I do other things.THAT is also a seldom thing,as I have 2 other computers I do my work on.To make it short,... I was flying and all was fine.I landed, parked and watched other ac come in,and all was fine. THEN,...came back some time later to fly off again, and noticed the AC were disappearing out of the blue, for no apparent reason. This is happening at every airport. Thinking I may have had a glitch,I restarted my computer and still, the disappearing act is there. Things ruled out...hold short nodes and the like/ lack of parking. Those things arent the problem.Something else is wrong.

The only reasons for AI planes to just disappear is either a parking problem or a flight plan problem. I am not aware of any other thing that might cause this
I would suggest that you turn down your AI to 1% or as low as you can get it and see if you still have the problem. If not than you definitely have a flight plan problem.
I would suggest that you print out all of your flight plans ( I know that will be a pain in the rear end) but this is the only way you are going to spot the problem.
Depending on the number of flight plans you have this could be a slow process.
If these aircraft are disappearing while taxing you can bet it is a flight plan problem of some kind. It could even be a invalid destination airport ID.
But nine times out of ten it is because the aircraft is being used by more than one flight plan and the two plans are to close to the same time frames.
The syntax of flight plans are so picky all it takes is a comma out of place and you will have unexpected results.
And spotting these kind of errors can be a real pain
The first thing to do is to find a flight plan you know works and compare the others to it.
I wish you luck.

Well,I figured out what the problem was last night. And is seems it existed longer than I thought, and I hadnt noticed.
What was wrong is this...
I modified my KCLE some, and added quite a few extra gates and parking using ADE9.
Then, I modified my flight plans to include a 747 repaint I did that was to park ONLY at the NASA center at the Ap.
I found that other AC (ai) were parking there as well,so I went thru and using ADE9,I made the parking all for AAL,except for the NASA area, and made those United AL.
Then,I changed my modified and repainted 747 ai to park at United, which would put them at NASA KCLE first.
The problem arose when the ai ac that were supposed to park at general aviation parking landed, and there was no GA parking anymore.I had redesignated all but NASA pkng as AAL,and the GA ai AC had no place to park.
SO...
I used my aiAC editor and tried to reassign my ai GA AC AFTER I recreated a GA parking area.
It worked. My Cessna ai and other GA aircraft now have a place to park and all is well again.
So,...my flight plans were OK.
I had enough parking spaces.
What I did wrong was eliminated all general aviation parking and had no place for those types of ac to park...until I figured out my mistake.
THANKS TO ALL YOU GOOD FOLKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO HELP ME THRU THIS.
With all the areas to investigate in the program and all the possible reasons for the many problems that sometimes arise for us,it is good to know there's a place one can come to and ask for help. Most times, others have a solution for our problem(s). Sometimes not...but,at least here,we try and help one another, and that is greatly appreciated. //

No problem glad to help in any way I can.
Flight plans can be a real pain in the rear, and adding parking places to existing airports can lead to problems as well as you discovered. One has to be careful and think ahead before making changes as the result might not be what you expect.
Glad you got every thing worked out.
One of the other strange things you can see is to have a AI aircraft in sight while you are at flight level 320 and all of a sudden it just vanishes into thin air. That really blows you away you start looking for aliens or something. :D

Hahahaha!!! Havent seen AC disappear in flight yet,LOL... That WOULD be a sight !!! And you are absolutely right !!! Next time I go to modify ANYTHING in the sim other than a repaint,I most certainly will write out a game plan and double check it for any possible problems. Thanks Gary !
