FS Genesis

Does anyone know what's happening at FS Genesis? The site is still up and they willingly take your money and send files. However if there's a problem, the contact number is no longer in service and they won't reply to e-mails. I have filed a dispute with Paypal hoping to get someone to contact me, but it seems there's a problem with administration somewhere.

I am not sure where but I herd some time ago that this site had folded. If you are having issues with some of there software you might be out of luck trying to find anyone that can help you with it. Perhaps some one here might be able to help depending on the problem but if you have lost a file or something like that than you might be out of luck. If you are missing a key than there is a way to find that key provided you have not uninstalled the file.
When ever I purchase a digital download I make a copy of the downloaded file on a CD OR DVD.
There is a program called Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
I also keep a copy of the Key that is needed to activate it.

Thanks Gary. I paid for a scenery from them. They seem to accept the money and then if you have a problem ignore you. I have started a refund action with paypal.

What kind of problem are you having with it?
A installation problem are something else :?:
If you are having problems with something bleeding through than make sure the scenery you added is the last entry in your scenery cfg file.
FS always put new scenery at the top of the list and this can sometime create a problem.
Just edit the Scenery cfg file DON NOT USE THE SCENERY EDITOR IN FS TO DO THIS AS IT TAKES TO LONG.

Yes OA, thats the site. I bought the BC terrain mesh which comes in 4 parts. 3 parts installed ok, but I got the following error for the 4th part: Archive integrity check failed. The set-up file not complete, possibly due to an incomplete download or corrupted file. I tried e-mailing 3 times. Phoning (no longer in service) I even sent an e-mail claiming I was an interested investor with lots of money. Still no response. That's why I took it up with paypal. Thanks for your interest in resolving. I did find a statement in the "about us" page which claimed that ownership had changed. The info you found is to do with membership and free downloads which they claim sent them under.

That sounds like either a bad file on their site, or a bad download on your side.

I had a similar problem with Prepar3d last year.

Good luck.

Got a refund today from Paypal. I guess FS Genesis exists only as a scam to offload illegal copies.

I was going to suggest that I email the missing/bad file to you.

The complete download IS coded with my account. But individual files should be OK.

Also, I believe that it said it was for FS9/FSX when I bought it.

Thanks for the help OA. I decided to get UT Canada and USA for FS9 instead. I had put faith in FS Genesis, as I use it for Europe, but anyway, it's resolved now. I see they send me all sorts of Ads promoting FS Genesis, but still can't get responses to anything unless I actually go to the purchase page. They are happy to take your money.

My favourite Mix:

UT USA and Canada, with FTX Global Mesh, for my FSX.

...and....

UT USA and Canada and Europe, with FS Global SE Mesh, for my FS 2004.

"Ultimate Terrain" is wonderful (accurate) for low level explorations; roads, rails, shore lines, etc!

Paul...low level explorer (Bishop to Actress).... ;) ...!
Win 8.1 64-bit. DX11. Advent Tower. Intel i7-3770 3.9 GHz 8-core. 8 GB System RAM. AMD Radeon HD 7700 1GB RAM. DVD ROM. 2 Terra Byte SATA Hard Drive. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Saitek Cyborg X Fly-5 Joystick. ...and a Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower.
