Another Ju-52 problem: but I help in this one.

I hope not to be banned from the forum, being so repetitive a bout Tante Ju & FS 2004 being such an obsolete sim by now (me too & ViSTA & my PC also :violin: :violin: :violin: ) plus all the screen shots I invade this site with:

This time I downloaded 4 extra textures for OW Fisher Ju-52 version from here, at Simviation: two are versions are of Ala Litoria, another is a North African camouflage & the last one has Winter camouflage. Browsing around Simviation FSX vintage (many do work in FS 2004) I found two files for correcting the outside wing vision from the cockpit, the ju52_interior_wings. bmp for both the African theater & the Winter camouflage. To my surprise, those files were (before replacement) from texture.3: the one I used as basic for my Iberia's Guadiana!! Inmediatly I checked my Guadiana and YES: the view from the cockpit, showed the old ZS-AFB registration!!

I corrected that texture for my Guadiana and now, alles is gut!!

Then a changed this aircraft to Ala Litoria for a test flight. To my surprise, I saw this when trying out both versions:

'Ala Littoria' I-BOAN outside view
Image

'Ala Littoria' I-BOAN panel view
Image

'Ala Littoria' I-BALI no colors inside nor in panel! :naughty:
Image

'Ala Littoria' I-BALI no panel colors, but outside view OK

EASY to correct: I copied all BMP's from texture.3 and pasted them inside the texture.ALA1 & texture.ALA2 - WITHOUT replacing anything when asked. Somebody forgot to include instructions, I believe, but like they say in Paris: ¡¡VOiLÁ!!

Ala Litoria I-BOAN:

Ala Litoria I_BALI:

See you soon  Jean

Hi Jean. I think this is a case of RTFM. :P These are the the Readme instructions for the Ala Litoria textures. However, I agree that number 3 is not too clear.

Ala Littoria, Junkers Ju-52, V.02 'I-BALI' & 'I-BOAN'
-------------------------------------------------------

Italian 'Ala Littoria' used Ju-52s on Venice/Munich/Berlin route from 1935 until 1944.These two aircrafts (I-BALI & I-BOAN) were used during 1940. Two textures sets, both compatible with the original freeware Junkers Ju-52_V.2 package by O. Fischer (http://www.junkers-52.de). NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OLDER VERSIONS !! Repaint by Manuele Villa.

INSTALLATION

This download requires the previous installation of the newest O. Fischer's Junkers Ju-52 V.2 package for FS2004. (downloadable at http://www.junkers-52.de)

1. Unzip 52_AL_V2.ZIP to a temporary folder, ensuring that you retain folder names.

2. Within the download, move the texture folders 'texture.ALA1' and 'texture.ALA2' to the folder 'Junkers Ju-52 V2' within your 'Flight Simulator 9/AIRCRAFT/' folder.

3. Copy all the bitmaps contained in the basic folder 'texture' in the new folders WITHOUT overwriting the contained files.

4. Back up the corresponding AIRCRAFT.CFG file (should you wish) and open the original with a text editor. Enter the following sections under the last [flightsim.XX] entry, numbering them sequentially:

I wondered wich "basic trextures" folder.. so I went via "texture.3" & no replace. Once something is working, I get rid of extra bagage like "basic textures" already installed, usually vía USB memories (just in case, I've had many "reinstall Vista" when I lended this Lap to my daughter in Law & her grandson: she downloaded a kid movie, into the REiNSTALL PARTiTiON!! I had assistance from HP for a new reinstall & everything in my Lap went back to basics, the register had been corrupted because of a 2 year old restless fingers punching my keyboard for.. maybe an hour?. Good thing I have a list & USB's for most of my stuff, problems are airmails that ban you from access, because they "protect your mail" :naughty: So much protection, KiLL's ME!! )

There is a Royal Helenic Air Force adition, with it's own model and all, not a "texture only" but a whole plane. I was surprised when viewing the wings from the cockpit, same mistaque as mine: has the ZS-AFB wing color & registration!! I have corrected the ju52_interior_wings.bmp but can't uploadit here (nor files for Iberia's Guadiana), still awaiting answer from OW Fisher. Do you have any idea on how to contact these people? I sended an Email, because the web address is blocked, still no answer. GRACiAS, Jean.

This is one of the biggest problems the fact that people will up load aircraft or scenery and than not provide support for it at all.
Some sites require that a author must provide a useable email to offer support for there upload but no one really checks out the email to see if it actually works or not. Bottom line is when downloading any file always check to see if there is a email attached to a readme file and that it actually works.
As for your problem I see you have two options either copy the texture from your other aircraft or trash it. Or if you are adventurous try creating your own.

Well, not my problem, just to share freely/warely & I have no need for any credit. I did my share of credits when working in 16mm documentaries, doing animations & all credits at the end: who directed, who filmed, who was the sound engineer.. all those Letrasets sticked on trasparent cells by the thousands!! And nobody reads them (but I was paid in advance: not millions of pounds but enough to live like a spartan) :violin: :violin: :violin: Public just goes out of the projection room, get their automobiles (or motorcycles) out of the parking lot & have a GREAT meal discussing how bad & boring that documentary was.. :violin: :violin: :violin: What I do is send my tweacked BMP's by Email when someone wants them. GRACiAS don Gary!!
