PANEL & TOP HATCH Problems with Ju-52/3m g7e

Postby Jean Loup » Sat Apr 25, 2015 1:48 pm

I have downloaded from this SiTE the "FS2004 Junkers Ju52/3mg7e Package" (http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=JU52.zip&categoryId=31), wich flies well (not so detailed as O.W. Fisher model, but a different armed version: although lacking the ventral cupola) it is not so bad & in general is very good, EXCEPT for two little details:
1.- The PANEL shows like this:

Ju-52_3m g7e 2D panel:
Image

Ju-52_3m g7e V panel:
Image

What ocutrred to me is "simply trasplant Pierino Primavesi's JU-AiR Panel folder" and this happened, ONLY for the 2D panel:
Ju-52_3m g7e 2D Panel is functional!!
Image
Then I copied the inside of Pierino's panel to the GAUGES folder.. BUT NO SUCCESS!! The V panel stubornly refuses to show any gauges :violin:

2.- NOW the EXiT problem: SHiFT+E+1 works good, as SHiFT+E+2 also does. BUT the TOP HATCH refusses SHiFT+E+3. Also I tried the "O" & the "/" tricks to no avail:

Ju-52_3m g7e with exits #1 & #2 open, BUT top HATCH refuses any command:

This is what is claimed in this package:
ju52/3m g7e TOP HATCH (but with what command?) & V Panel view:

From the zip preview I see a 'Gau.zip' file in the panel folder. You may want to extract that and put those gauges into the main Gauges folder of FS2004.

Looking at it - that is a good way to confuse a lot of people.

I'd suggest you pretend the 'gau.zip' was outside the panel folder (or move it outside) -- then just extract it and put those gauges inside the panel folder (or main Gauges folder in fs2004)

Thank you, Pete! Quick answer, but I feel like a fool: it ocurred to me (finally! at last!) to descipher that Russian translated into English by Google or Bing:
Panel:
MOST IMPORTANT - ðàñïîêîâàòü file GAU in the file GAUGES your FS.
But this small part gauges - big part gauges on panels and VC is designed on the base DC-3 -
WITHOUT FALL copy from the ration default DOUGLAS_DC3/panel/DOUGLAS_DC3.cab in the file GAUGES your FS.
So I did, but to no avail: no VC!! Well, at least the transplanted 2D Cockpit file from Primavesi is funcioning, icons included. The other TOP HATCH problem.. (turning red! ) is no problem: it opens with "Tail Hook" command (not asigned by default on my FS 2004, so I made it CTRL+T). Also it turns out, the cargo door opens in two ways, using SHiFT+E+2 = it opens all the way for cargo loading/unloading, but using "Wing Fold" command (I asigned CTRL+W) it opens as a starboard paratrooper door.. but it would require some force to close in flight!! Not a sliding door like the port one. All this adds to the model being more fun to fly, pity about that VC:

As a mater of fact, there is a difference in the Ju-52/3m g7e instrument panel, when I eliminated the Primavesi 2D cockpit, I guess that's all I get & many are not functional.

Ju-52_3m g7e panel compared to photo of download:
Image

NO, I did not eliminate any aircraft on my copy of FS 2004: it is as standard as the DVD installed it. I have added a few aircraft & Real Environment, all sliders settings to the right, reality high, weather visibility 5 or 10 miles & tweaked CFG file as instructed in this forum, but all that did not disturb any other aircraft before. Far better than an empty panel, must be a worn out Tante Ju from that nasty war.. :violin: :violin: :violin:

From a quick peek at the Panel.cfg of the Ju 52 a gauge named B-29 is missing from the download. I've had a look round & can't find it anywhere.

WITHOUT FALL copy from the ration default DOUGLAS_DC3/panel/DOUGLAS_DC3.cab in the file GAUGES your FS.

As well as Douglas_DC3.cab you also need Ford_Trimotor.cab. This is located in the Panel folder of the default Ford_Trimotor. Paste a copy of both gauges into either the Panel folder of the Ju52 or the main FS9\Gauges folder.

This is how the VC looks with the above gauges (+ the contents of Gau.zip) installed.

This is the 2D panel.

NOTE: While it's possible to use a 2D panel on any aircraft this doesn't work with the VC. The VC in FS2004 aircraft is defined in the MDL file & gauges listed in the Panel.cfg [VCockpitxx] entries will only display on the specific aircraft they're intended for.

I found the missing gauges. Download YB17.zip here --> http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=yb17.zip&x=15&y=10

You need B-29_rpm1.gau, B-29_RPM2.gau & B-29_RPM3.gau which are included in the gauges folder.

This is how the VC looks now.

HOLA Hagar, jolly good Sunday this is (despite being under 40° C at noon) with such good & excellent news, for this "Tante Ju" fanatic. I am working on this & will post more nasty images :eusa-think: Besides, I flew in a B-17 at Cuernavaca's airport inauguration: I was reserve Skydiver for the air show but all sklydivers were healthy, since I just standed there bothering every one with stupid questions, the Confederate Air force invited me aboard during the show low fly by, exploding bombs & all. Later, I was a copilot in a Me-108 Taifun -posing as a Me-109- & doing excellent aerobatics, even handed the controls a little whyle. I can't believe the FAi ordered to rename this Air Force as "Commemorative": most pilots (in those late 80's) were WW II veterans from Texas!! Well, that's "democracy" yanky doodle style.. no more Yellow Rose of Texas :violin: :violin: :violin:

So this unexpected B-17 adition to Golden Wings, is very very welcome, Hagar!! & I am not shure, but MAYBE (just maybe!) "Memphis Belle" was the B-17 of Confederate Air Force.. Funny, now they say the B-17 in question is "Sentimental Journey" with silver finish, but the B-17 I flew in, had Olive Drab finish.. more like this, although I do not recall that nose Baby!! Well, climbing in that lader & crawling into that nose, one did not notice what was painted on the sides..

Now, everything is functioning: the doors & hatches all open & close, the 2D panel & VC panel have been completed & functioning.. & I have a YB-17 added to my aircraft collection. Since the Ju-52/3m in question I installed in A Century of Flight, so there is the YB-17. I distribute different versions of the same aircraft, among my three versions of FS 2004, acording to era or priority given to Golden Wings, then Silver Wings & finally the standard A century of Flight.

All doors & hatches OPEN (& they close too!):

The 2D Panel works:
Image

As the VC Panel does too, although the copilot must be from Mongolia:
Image

NOW, what am I going to complain about?? I better go & have some breakfast, all this was done on coffee only. MUCHAS GRACiAS Hagar, Jean. <<q <<q <<q
