I got an idea tonight and did a quick search to see if any of these aircraft building wizards ever made
a rocket for FS9. I know those geniuses made that incredible space shuttle and ISS package. I've been
to afraid to load that package on my old dell computer cause it would probably EXPLODE!..

Anyway, I thought about how cool it would be to make the Saturn-5 rocket for FS. With all those tricks
they do with the tailhook, smoke fx and many door and access panel options, They could put you
on the launch pad, hooked up to the launch tower with all the hoses and wires and the steam fx... the
whole bit. All controlled by the fs pilot. Not to mention all the cool views you could have, like a view
looking down the Saturn-5 from the top, or looking out at the launch tower, or up from the bottom.

And then with some of the door opening buttons you could go through the various rocket stages and come
to a soft parachute landing in the atlantic ocean. Right next to one of those addon ship packages that are
available for download.

As these amazing fs addon folks have shown many times over.. The possibilities are endless! ..

P.S. This is just wishful thinking of course. I do realize how hard something like this would be create. It would
be so cool though!

Yes! great idea if some can pull it off. I think it's great having 'unusual' stuff (boats, cars, trains & now a rocket) in our sim! Well, we have shuttles as well!

......... and we could call it Planes, Trains, and Automobiles........
If successful, maybe a movie could be made about it ..... without rockets and boats .... wouldn't be good addition to title ......

Spaceflight is vastly different than earthflight. You might want to look at Orbiter.



Remember how long it took you to learn to fly in air? Space is a whole new learning curve.

FS might be able to handle something like the Freedom 7 suborbital flight (1961).

Yup, that is true. I have flown/plsyed Orbitor as well. There is a guy that developed a "space" gauge for FSX that is quite fun, but it is always interesting to see how far we can push FS9.

So, like, is it on? Are we really going to do it? Cool ....... it's like unbelievable man! Humongous liftoff in FS2004.

Not a lot of places to visit in space!..... ...

....probably why its called "Space"?.... ...!

You can go to the moon but it's three days in real time. Then there's getting back.

Luckily, trans-lunar space will be flown at 16X speed. We'll simulate impulse engine booster thrust. Flight will be taken in shifts. We'll rest at point where gravity of moon and earth are equal if necessary. All in all, there are those who are going where no man in FS2004 has gone before. Oh what an adventure!

Ya know what would be so cool for that Orbiter package, if they could simulate joining up with the
space ship ''Discovery One'' in its decaying orbit around jupiter.

When you get there, you find the Discovery cold and dark and spinning just like in the movie. And then.. after all
that work and time spent getting there.. ya shut down the puter and go to bed.

After all, its not the destination as much as it is the journey! ..
