I am looking for a really good, up to date moving map program for FS2004...I have tried several of the free ones, but none of them seem to be real usable...Can someone suggest a good alternative? Free or Pay, I don't care...Thanks a lot,

I use FSMAP you can download a lot of different maps for just about everywhere you want, So far I have found these at AVSIM but they could be other places as well.
This will show you a image of the Airport you are at allowing you to zoom in so you can read taxi way and runway signs and even shows the parking places. It makes navigating a new airport a breeze.You have to hate it when you are at a airport you have never been to before and ATC tells you to taxi to runway 7 using taxi way oscar november charlie and you have no clue as to where these are FSMAP will allow you to slew around the air port thus finding taxiways and runways easy.
In flight it has a TCAS system that warns you a nearby aircraft within 10 NM so you can see them before they go by you. By the time ATC tells you the aircraft is going by you a little late if you ask me. It also shows your flight path as well it will show you all of the navaids in your area.

If you use this the best way to do this is to create a folder outside of FSMAP and NOT in any FS folder
Down load all the files you want once satisfied you will need to unzip all of the files. it will create another folder where you will find the map to inseret into FSMAP
This is a slow process but well worth the effort

FS Tramp, which I use, is the FS Navigator version for FSX....Free for a Trial Period..so good that I finally purchased it!

Plan-G, which I use, is free for all versions of Windows, versions of FS 2004, FSX and X-Plane.

Is there a really serious problem?

I guess my serious problem is that you gave misleading information to the OP and/or might have confused him/her and/or might not have realized what you were doing by giving that information and/or might be making an excuse for it now rather than feeling just a little bad about it now. I didn't think that many of us left were still using the wonderful, original version of; "FS Navigator".... ...!

I have been using my version since it was first released, many years ago for my FS 2000, FS 2002, and FS 2004!

I have my original "FS Nav installation.exe" safely saved on a CD, together with my registration details, ready to be re-installed whenever required.
"FS Tramp", by the same author, is the direct equivalent of "FS Navigator" designed for FSX!.... ...!

Of course, "Plan-G" works for practically everything now!... ...!

All excellent for use with Multiplayer, (on the "FS Host" Servers*), to see who is around!

Yep...I too use FS Navigator. Dont remember the version,but love it!
And in regards to the ribbing that goes on here,...absolutely!...as long as it is polite and done with intentions of having fun,I'm all for it!
Simviation forum is one of the most level-headed,friendly,and informative sim sites out there.IMO,...it IS the best place to go for WHAT EVER sim needs arise.
