blended wing boeing gauges

Postby mustangaroo » Wed Sep 03, 2014 4:17 pm

I have dl'd the boeing for 2004 but the config lines for the panel wants to see lionheart (lh) gauges which do not come with said package. It flies nice enough but takes quite a bit of lead time to set up a good landing. Right now I have a different boeing panel scabbed in place but from what I see I prefer what was intended for this aircraft. I think the gauge package might be proprietary but cannot find out as of yet... I did try lionheart support but got nothing yet.

I downloaded this file http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=Boeing_797.zip&x=17&y=10

I extracted the auto-installer to a temp folder to check it out. A gauge named LHC_Boeing747-400.CAB is included in a folder named Gauges.

I believe this is the one you're looking for. Paste it into your FS9\Gauges folder.

Thanks Hagar! I did not extract the files to a temp folder first....hence the missing gauges pack. I should have known better in hind sight.

Downloading directly into FS9 or FSX is like walking into a room filled with high explosives and flammable fumes with a lit match.
Needles to say I would not attempt it. :violin:

I've always disliked auto-installers but I think that's a tad over-dramatic.

To be fair, this one is configured correctly & the gauge should have been installed to the correct location. That's providing the FS9 option was selected & the install was directed to the FS9 root directory, wherever that might be on your PC. If the aircraft installed properly using the auto-installer I can't figure out why the gauge wasn't.

Doug. I do read gary, talking about downloading directly into fs9 or fsx!
That is not something i would ever do
I, as you , dislike any downloaded .exe file. I always open up and install what i want!
Sorry if i misunderstood something here :?

I don't think you misunderstood anything Kurt. I'm merely trying to point out that using the auto-installers included with FS addons is not dangerous & should not harm your PC in any way. ;)

I would never recommend using auto-installers myself but some people will never get the hang of doing a manual install & rely on them to install their addons. Most of the auto-installers I've checked out over many years are configured correctly.

Thanks everyone for your input. Recently I have been scratching my noggin about such variables as flight plans, airports and ai traffic and how all that meshes to actually show up. But that is another topic. If there is a break down that does not involve multiple programs I am all ears. :D  <<q
