Nvidia GeForce 9400GT woes.

Been a while since I last was commenting here. And,unfortunately,as I return,I come to you all with a problem. I have a Dell Dimension 2400 with a Pentium 4,at 2.8 gHz. I have 2 gig ram. I bought and installed a GeForce 9400 GT vid card in my system. It has a gig of on board memory. My last card only had something like 128meg memory on it. Yet,it did far better than my newest card. It is a PCI card and NOT PCIexpress. With the new card of 1 gig memory I would have thought it would let me place my FS9 settings to max across the board and look great. Fact is,my older card did a better job. When I am in SPOT mode and circle around he craft,it does the hesitating jumping view like my frame rate went down to 2 per sec. What is the problem? I am not great at setting vid card settings with the program that comes with the cards, like setting vertical sync and such. Not sure what all that stuff does. All I want is to smooth out my frame rate.Get a smooth running sim with all settings maxed out (FS9). Any computer jocks out there that can give me a hand here? Thanks folks.

I found the solution... swap my old vid card back into my computer,...uninstall FS9,...trash it,forget about it and take up my HALO game as my old fav once again. It has never failed me.Everyone have a great time and hope your troubles are less than mine. It's been fun. I'm outta here and finished with the flight sim world.

Nah... I aint gonna let a computer problem come between me and my FS9,Lol.
I have a bad temper, being Irish,Scottish and Native American,so I rant to clear my head.Unfortunately,I happen to be on line when I get bent out of shape.
ANYWAY,.....
My old card is a Radeon 9250.
My new one is a GeForce 9400 GT

The GT has a gig of memory where as the 9250 has only around 128 to 256 ( I forget exactly ) .
If I am not mistaken, the 9400 GT is also faster.
HOWEVER...
I remember hearing years ago about how some sound cards cause problems with some peripherals.
I removed my new sound card ( Diamond Extreme Sound 5.1 ) and put the old sound card back.
I had also put my old 9250 back in and it runs great (with the new sound card,it was LOUSY frame rates.) .
THEREFORE... figuring the sound card may be the culprit,I plan on putting my GeForce back in and see how it does with out the new sound card installed. HOPEFULLY, it will run like a striped assed ape and I will then be a happy camper...
until some other trivial problem sets my Heinz blood to boiling. :angry-cussingblack:

My old Pentium P4, 2.8 GHz Dual Processor computer, fitted with a cheap-and-cheerful nVidia PCIe, 9500GT with 1 GB Video Memory, ran FS 2004 like a dream, .....and even FSX with a few settings wound down a bit!
The 9500 is also a low-Wattage card, inflecting less load on the PSU if that would be a problem.

To run my FSX flat-out, required my purchase of a proper i7 Gaming Computer..... ....!

Paul...FS 2004 + FSX.... ...!

The card I have is by no means the top of the line, it is no longer being produced it was replaced by a different model. GTX T150
The system I have will allow me to put 3 video cards provided they are not double size cards and the one I have is but I could put a second card but see no reason to do so. I have FSX maxed out and use a software called RAZOR game booster to help me out.
