I downloaded the Hindenburg and another Zeppelin (probably by the same designers). The outside of the AC is beautiful.But the panel they included with it looked like it was designed by a first grader with crayons. TOTALLY unacceptable.So,I dropped their panel and added my own. NOW,the problem is this. When I go to manually switch the battery,or the avionics,FS9 crashes and I get an error screen that says the problem lay within sim1.dll .. Is there any way I can get around this problem,or do I toss the blimp in the trash can along with the other downloads that have such lousy panel displays that I have dumped. Were it not for the panel,they would be beautiful AC. Help with this dll problem please.

did the original panel have those switches or did you add them ?

if you added them,
check the [electrical] section of the aircraft.cfg
look at:

avionics_bus
avionics

I pulled the original panel and placed it in another folder named 'xtra' ,the added a panel I made from other gauges in my gauge folder from FS9. In all of my 200 plus aircraft,only 2 aircraft have crashed my FS like this. The panel that came with the AC is lame at best. That's why I placed my own in it. If I can get around the error 'sim1.dll' then I will fly the AC. If not,'' I'll delete it before I fly something with such a lousy stock panel.

I agree with the other post your problem is in the aircraft cfg file
like you said you choice is to either check the aircraft cfg file out or trash the plane.
Like you I also hate it when you download what looks like a great aircraft than you discover that the panel used is the pits.
This was one of the reasons I purchased FS Panel Studio it is great for fixing problems with panels and windows. But it can not fix a VC problem

Sorry to butt in here, but can FS Panel Studio be used to create a instrument panel suitable for a separate monitor, AND not change the original aircrafts 2D panel?

When I get motivated and really like an AC,I go whole hog making a panel. I used the cfg.edit panel editing program for several years,then finally got a copy of the FS Panel Studio. They are almost identical.And cfg.edit is a freebie. Here is my panel for my Embraer Phenom 300. I made my own background bmps' and slammed them with everything under the sun.,as you can tell. It works flawlessly.And I use 2 monitors.My main monitor runs my main panel window,and my second monitor runs my co-pilot panel.Then,I have about a dozen popups. Here's my panel cfg.

FS panel studio can make panels from scratch. But if you are using it to edit any panel than it will change that panel you can also use it to make or edit gauges with. I myself have not used it to make a panel with I use it to edit existing panels but if you check out the link I posted than you can judge for yourself. But this is the program one needs if they want to design or edit panels it just does not get any easier than this. Because you are looking at the actual panel you can see the changes with out having to start FS. It's only fallback is it can not edit or design Virtual Cockpits.

You can change out gauges within a VC using Panel studio

Hey Stephan,,, can you use the PANEL ,, from these Air France and Quantas BLIMPS ?

Stephan: If you think it's the model file I'd suggest you do a google search for "akron.zip" by Thomas Ruth. It is a partially completed set of files containing both the Hindenburg and the Graf Zeppelin for FS9 and an "Akron" for FSX. The job is almost completed and all that's lacking is a sound file and a panel file. It's real good stuff too. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
