Hey y'all. I found a freebee download and the file is "fsraas11.zip" . It is a "Runway Awareness and Advisory System for FSX/FS2004 V1.1 . What it is supposed to do is alert the pilot when while taxiing,he approaches a runway,AND it gives taxi warnings and several other warnings as well. The installation says "No installation or setup process is required. Just unzip and run FsRaas11.exe.
Runway position data file("r4.csv") should be in same folder.
FSUIPC should be installed." /_/_/ I cant get this thing to work to save my neck.I had it sitting in my Programs Folder just to remember where it was. Since it didnt work,I moved the folder into my FS9 folder.Still nothing. I use a short cut sitting on my desktop to run the exe then start my FS9. Does anyone else have this program and if so,does it work for you?It was made by someone named Dongjin Shin.If you have it and may have an answer, sure would appreciate the help.

This program is cool! I'm going to go get it and see if I can't getter working
for me.

Gary, Did you see what James Dinsdale wrote on the Vatsim forum about this?
I disagree with that dude. There have been times when I got lost at the airport
and was wondering why my ATC window wasn't giving me the takeoff option. .. :shifty: ..

Besides that, It would be nice to hear another friendly female voice in the cockpit...

If you are not getting a takeoff option the problem is the hold short is either not there or improperly placed.
When given clearance to taxi ATC will always use the word taxi to and hold short of runway __. There is a actual place defined on the taxiway for the hold short and if you are in a spot view you will see a solid yellow line marking its place. The problem is some of the default runways are not defined correctly the hold short is not in the correct place this is especially true where you have a offset thresh hold.
The best way to define this is the taxi way makes a right or left turn to the runway but the actual thresh hold of the run way is not right at the corner but further down the runway so if you stop at the corner you are not at the hold short line as it is placed close to the thresh hold. You will not get the take off option. You have to taxi down the runway close to the threshold in order to get a take off option. And if you do not get one than there is no hold short defined for this runway.
I use AFCAD to solve this problem by moving the hold short to the corner
