FS9.cfg file location in Vista (Home Premium)

Posted By Hagar
This will depend on the OS. Copied from Readme.rtf in the FS9 main directory.
The fs9.cfg file is located in:
o Windows 2000 and Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9.
o Windows 9x and Windows ME: \WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9
As you can't find it after searching the HD you might have a problem. The file must be there as I don't think FS9 would run without it.
PS. A CFG is not normally a hidden file. If the other CFG files (Aircraft.cfg, Panel.cfg etc) display so should fs9.cfg.
OH, surprise! In Windows Vista, Microsoft managed to make FS9.cfg a hidden file with a LABERiNTiCAL voyage or QUEST, (w7 & w8 might be "differently similar") so I graphic & share here, my Odyssey:
START by clicking at the desk "your name folder" (in my case, here at my Desk = I Click on "Jean Loup"):

HEY! You forgot to click APPLY & click OK for SAViNG this change!!
Now, Click "AppData" folder to oppen it:

STEP 1.- Desktop\Your Name folder\Tools\Folder Options\View\Show hidden files and folders\Apply\OK
STEP 2.- AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9\FS9.cfg
After finding this ELUSiVE file, I did as instructed at FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2004 FAQS in: How do I tweak my fs2004 config file? Not only mi 3 FS versions have improved & are smoother, but my whole PC has rejuvenated back to new! Really worth trying all this settings (ALLWAYS back-up, if NO like just revert) EXCEPT ONE:
