Hi everyone!
This time I seriously need the knowledge and expertise of you simwizards and bits/bytes scientists.

In my FS9 aircraft files there is a number of Lockheed Constellations and Super Constellations both civilian (in many liveries) as well as military versions.

So a couple of weeks ago I find a new livery ''KLM 60 years'' at Flyawaysim.
L-1049E PH-LKW ''Deuteron'' for FS9 Manfred Jahn L-1049G.

So I quickly download, unzip and insert it as described in the accompanying Read Me.

I fire up FS9, scroll to L-1049G, and....... NOTHING.
There are 12 more liveries in that a/c folder, among them two more KLM L-1049G/E, working fine, but no PH-LKW.

Next step: removed completely L-1049G folder from the aircraft files, made a new L-1049G folder, inserted PH-LKW textures ONLY, added the text to the a/c cfg and crossed my fingers.
NO SHOW!
FSACC cannot find it!
I went painstakingly through the a/c configs and everything seems OK textwise.
Sent a mail with my aircraft.cfg attached to the author, he replied that everything seems correct and that he does not understand either. His copy is working nice and neatly.
So I need your help.
The A/C cfg is as follows (I have deleted a number of [x] in order to try to keep it within limits.
It concerns sim.[ nr.12].

A couple of things
1). Why all the gaps in the numbering of the flt sims ? I do not think it matters that much but most people use sequential numbering
The other thing is to make sure that the name of the file used in the sim= EXACTLY matches the the actual file.
I believe the line for texture has to match as well
They must match letter for letter and are case sensitive as well. If there are spaces or underscores in the name of the actual file than the sim= line has to have the same thing. They absolutely have to match.
These two lines can make or break you
EXAMPLE if the name of the file you reference in the sim= line is B747-300 the line in the sim= has to match b747300 or b747-300 will not work
it has to be B747-300
The same holds true in the texture line as well I think

I understand that you deleted some sections from your post, but.........

Don't know if you deleted [fltsim.11] section from your post or if it is actually missing from the aircraft.cfg. If it is missing from the aircraft.cfg that is a problem.

[fltsm.x] sections must be in sequential order and no 'holes' in the sequence.

I deleted a umber of sections in order no make the document not too long and to emphasize the applicable sections.
The quirck is that MY cfg works in the AUTHOR, s sim!!!

I'm concerned with this particular Entry:

ui_type=L-1049E Super Constellation { ------------------------- that letter E,, try a G instead

Try changing that E to a G ,,,, see what happens , look at the rest of your entries as well

Also,,, check your Letters in the TEXTURE of the file, letter for letter,,,,

if necessary, rename the Texture to Simvation,,, then also change the Texture Folder name as well to Simvation....

Let me know, if that worked, changing that E to a G

Jetranger

I have over 5,000 Aircraft in my FSX Gold / Acceleration edition !
they weren't put there magically by themselves .

Yes Jetranger, I have tried that and neg result.
One more funny thing is there is another KLM L-1049E in the same folder and it is working OK.
I have read, reread and read again the text and cannot discover any discrepancies.
Even created a separate L-1049E folder containing that KLM texture only, and No Show in FS.
I must be stupid.....

My Next suggestion would be - to go to that particular Texture FOLDER, open it, and make "Double Sure" , that the FILES inside are Exactly whats needed and worded correctly !!

Go to your OTHER Aircraft Folders for that particular airplane and open them up, and look at those files for reference and the names of each file,,,

then go back and make sure the files in the folder that giving you problems MATCH, all of them should say the same thing !!! with NOT 1 misspelling or dashes ,,,

also I've had to count the files in a folder before, against other files in another folder, only to find out it was either short a few files or missing the important file to make it show up,,,,

so if your GOOD folder shows say, 15 files inside

and your badd folder only shows 12 files inside - Bingo,,,, your missing something.

Also check the file names !

IF All else fails,,,, chuck the SOB,,, and forget about it and delete that entry from the aircraft CFG Entry as well,,,

I've had to do that a few times on a livery for whatever reason !

I have about 42 Lockheed Constellation L-1049's ,,,, but,,, NOT the ones from Manfred John,, so, I can't be of any in depth help,,, on those particular models per say.

Sorry.

Let us know how it works out !!!

I will give it one more try as per your advice.
When no joy I will remove it.
Very nice pics!
If not Manfred Jahn, who made them?

Who's then ???

Well quite a few are of Just Flights Lockheed Constellations

the rest are of FSDZigns Constellations

Have about 22 of those in different paint liverys that are well detailed.

Tho No VC , just a Panel.

Just Flights model has a full detailed VC.

You'll have to look around FlightSim.com or avsim and that one Australian site for more paints for the FSDZigns paint liverys, I managed to find a whole bunch of really nicely detailed paints for them,, by searching for them,, they have a better chrome or metal reflection on them,,, only reason I chose them and I liked those models better, personel preference is all.

Hey Tinpusher, i overviewed the links from Flight Sim and as i can unerstand you need to have other programs installed first in your flight sim in order to work correctly.....................don´t forget to cheq that ;) ;) ...................
