Hi Good People,

The team over at the Ford Tri-Motor Project site have just released a big batch of FREE repaints for the Microsoft default de Havilland 88 Comet aircraft. See Picture below for a couple of examples.

There are some very intesting repaints for this old girl within the batch available - many have been technically difficult due to the typical MS default mappings but I am sure that you will find some of them very enjoyable to fly. All for Free.

You will find them at http://www.ford-tri-motor.net/de-havilland-88.htm

The Ford Tri-Motor site advocates that simviation.com is one of the principle enviornments for Flight Simming and advertises/links to them on just about every page of the Ford Project Site.

Anyway - pop on over to the de Havilland 88 page - enjoy the downloads and feel free to have a look around at the many other aircraft, scenery and even jigsaw puzzles available for free for your simming world.

Regards

Garry J. Smith

Hi Mate,

Enjoy them - no reason that they should not work in FSX - in fact the much smaller demand of the DX3 and DX1 formats used should make them more effecient in the FSX sim. :)

Not sure if you download the full pack available - the FS2004 version of the DH88 Comet might give you a problem but the texture sets should work fine.

Actually, I cherry picked the paint schemes I wanted including the paint kit, and will when I get time try to paint a few up with Vintage Oil Company logos ,, to match the Vega series aircraft, the Phillips 66 logo, and Sunoco, and Richfield Oil logos.

I have TrackIR5 and their great to fly using that head tracker too !!

Thanks again !

Have some fun painting them mate - some complex mirror mapping here and there to watch out for - but fun to paint up once you have it all under control.
