Yes I can see that Jbaymore that it could merge information into the *.exe rather than just overwriting.  The other thing that then plays on my mind is on the M$ site it says that if you have a thrid party *.exe in place you will get an error when you update.  It appears this isn't the case though.  Just makes me wonder if anything is actually done to the *.exe thats all.

How about this.  Someone note the size of there no-cd *.exe  Run the update with that still in place, then look at its size after etc  Has anything happened to the *.exe?

FSUIPC is a module that allows things like radar to be used.  It is very good and i highly recommend it.  You need the newest version for it to work with FS9.1.

I installed the FS9.1 patch and it works great, i am waiting for the new no-cd patch, there is code that has been edited in the FS9.1 exe, that the no-cd patch does not contain, so i just leave the cd in my spare drive.

Thanks to the guidance of Ramsa329 at FS-GS.com my patch installed beautifully. I haven't gone wrong yet since I became a client of his. He is like a computer and flight sim genius which helps, because I am neither of those. Moe like a boxorox I am.

Patch etc all installed on mine ok.  I am running it off Disk4 at the moment though.  I never use the CD drive for anything anyhows so the disk can just stay in there.

Microsoft isn't asking you to do much to get their "patch" to work, are they  ;D ?

I'm using Win 98 for Flight Sim on its own partision.  this avoids the XP-SP2 factor.  Insatlled FS9 from the disks, applied the patch, and then replaced fs9.exe with the original nocd.exe. Its been working fine for a week both flying and doing sceenery work with FSUIPC 3.4.
I think a lot of people are actually having problems with XP SP2 and not  FS9 itself. I Use Win98se simpley because its a mature OS with most of the bugs worked out or well known, it will crash every couple of days but I can live with that.
My XP installation does strange things with FS9 so I don't use it except for testing
