All I'm gonna say.....

Is that I seriously hope that it will be much much better than FS2004, I mean twice or three times better.

Considering a lot of other games outside the flightsim world, are growing rapidly and getting out of this world realistic graphics.  And the annoying thing is that they were all started after M$ flightsim.

Just hope night is much better, couldn't really be bothered to fly at night at the present.  No offense to anyone, just don't think it's as realistic as daytime at all.

And I hope that they include much more realistic aircraft, with full interior cabins, instead of just VC's, and a very good AI traffic and ATC system.

Oh and don't forget realistic airport environments, including runways, taxiways, aprons and so on, that look like the real thing.  I wish they'd find a way to create runways with repeating one square!
And I'd love to see uneven airports, I'm sick of the extremely flat surfaces at every single airport, want to see runways dip into a valley type thing or go uphill or downhill or go over a slope, know what I mean.

And that's my 2 cents.
If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough.

It would be great if the night lighting varied in accordance with the moon 8)

How about more of the scenery that seems to be missing.  Also those water airports that seem to be missing right now  >:(

Not to mention all those anomalies fixed (like airports in craters, or on buttes).  Here's one I bet you haven't seen before!

Say!  Isn't there a basic truth we're forgetting?  Wouldn't we feel a bit cheated if we didn't have to add on stuff to make FS work better, add more planes, etc.?  I mean some people customize their cars, we customize our game (application) ;D

I was thinking MS could improve on the airports.
E.G. The number of walkways isn't the same as the number of Gates at Chicago O'Hare.
Also, I don't know if this already exists, but maybe the ATC could be voice controled.
I.E. talking into a mic in response to ATC directions.
And to the question of "earning" money in FS, it's a cool idea and I would love it, but it should be added as an additional feature, not a barrier to better aircraft.

Hi all, very interesting thread. I agree that microsoft, should not provide us with such a big leap in graphics demandings as with the previous sims!

Let's be honest, I'm thinking of buying the fx6800 ultra 256mb, to be able to play fs9 with all maxed out and land in a crowded airport without any fear of the sim starting to slow down to much when you encounter crosswinds and are 50ft above the rwy :D

Apart from this just improve what we already have..

- I like the idea of being able to answer with my voyce to ATC..

- Also the finnancial thing could be a nice addition, but only as an optional thing..

-one BIG thing that I'd like to be addressed is the unreal feelling you have when flying in low-level, especially when flying props and you decide to go for a "walk"!
When I'm flying low I allways have the feeling of being much biggert than the trees, houses, etc...
Also, the height feeling still isn't very good! When I'm in a real plane at 1000ft I really can feel the height, but in fs, you still seem near ground...

This are my thoughts.. :)

oh, I almost forgot one VERY important thing!

Microsoft, PLEASE...I need this!!!

VECTORIAL THRUST!!!

When will we be able to have harriers behaving like real harriers in the sim??

now you also have the v-22 and f-35, so I think vectorial thrust capabilities would be a great addition!!!

...just had another thought... ::)...!
Most of the time I fly around in small GA aircraft at low level, and at a height of 500+ feet, the ground texture, grassy fields, cultivated fields, woods, sandy beaches, etc, look fine....
But, as soon as I land on a grassy field, the grass looks nothing like grass... ::)...!
It would be nice if the ground textures represented real textures rather than the existing green/black, out-of-focus texture blobs when landed.
I'm not into waving grass, waving cornfields, rabbit holes, etc, just a roughened, more realistic patchwork field texture at ground level... ;)...!

Cheers all... ;D...!

Paul....Buggar! I knew I should have fitted tundra wheels.... :-[...!
LOL... ;D...!

Hi there,
This my first post, so first I would like to say hello to everybody !
I enjoy flightsim now for about half a year (probebely
a very short time).
This are my ideas for future versions.

1. One more section in the plane select menu.
Group/manufacture/type/livery
for example:
/Passenger Modern/Boeing/737/HouseLivery/
that would make the sorting easier for airplane collectors
like me.

2. Your own hangar
Also another plane selection method.  Instead of choosing
a plane from a list it would be nice to have a hangar selection mode.
A 3d hangar where you could place your favourit aircrafts inside and move around in first person view to enjoy
all your jewels before entering one.
Maybe there could be presets of hangars in different sizes and style for Military, Large Passanger or Vintage planes.
This could be also used as "showroom" for vitual airlines.

3. Actually I never flew online so far (unfortunately).
But this is a thing i miss in many "games".

Something like an airport bar for pilots on every airport.

Another thought I had, could MS add in wake turbulence if it isnt in already?
NOt to mention wing tip vortices, etc...

how about Ice on lakes and shallow water. or reflective taxiways and runways in the rain. or snow accumulation. And maybe the ability to see the bottom of a lake in shallow waters or even fish ;D. idk if the current flight sim has all these. i dont have a very good graphics card.  :(
MY  computer:
Pentium 4, 3.2 ghz
1 GIG  Ram
250 gig hard drive
Geforce 7600 512 mb
Im happy with it.................For now.

Ok Well my system is not the greatist now, I have a AMD 64 3200 processor with 512 mbs RAM and a geForce MX440(I plan to buy a new card in a week or two) and im running FS with weather maxed out and most scenery etc on Med/High getting around 20 FPS in a partaly larg city. Now by the time FSX comes out I will have updated my RAM to at least 1 gig of fast RAM and probablya better video card. So FSX should not be an isue on my new comp but I would like MS to make FSX friendly for ALL users with a decent comp.
So what do i want to see:
1) Better terain mesh, go ahead and keep the textures etc the same to stay frame rate friendly but make better mesh. (Can DL new mesh 50 times better with no FPS change)
2) Better wind and clouds (winds mostly) But the clouds all look the same from high altitudes. Make them whispy with the wind and randomly generated????
3) More corporate jets. I like flyin those more than any. I just got EagleSofts Citation X and thats a great plane. How bout every MS planes panel looks and works like tis the real deal and i cant say anything about he flight characteristics cus ive never flown one ;)
4) Better airports, give em some life and make the runways "unlevel" real life most runways have an  hump or a dip in them.
5) Better Nav tools. Something like FSNav with approach plates included.
6) Thats abut it so to sum it up, MESH, Weather, Aircraft, Airports

A thought here......

Many of the "functions" that people want to "add on" for the next version of Microsoft Flight Simulator already exist.
