I
If I were to have just one moan.... I think it would be the option to have one or two 'english' dialect pilots/etc not necessarily linked to world zones but just as an option..........nothing against our cousins in the States but I do get frustrated when I'm flying into my favourite UK airport to hear that distinctive American twang coming through my headphones, nothing against you yanks; some of my best buddies are in the US.

End of moan.....................

Hi Crocker...!
...Probably for the reason that they don't have English accents in Cartoons...

"Golf Bravo Papa Lima Foxtrot. Hang on there, chaps, there's another little bird right in front of you, ready to land, so could you please go round again, if it's not too much trouble, and we'll have another little chat. Sorry for the inconvenience, best wishes. See you in the Club House for drinkies. Over and out".

NAH....I don't think so... ::)...!

Cheers, chaps... 8)...!

Paul.....Wizard prang, old bean... ;D...!

At the moment, the only thing I would like to see included in a newer version without adding extra complexity, would be the option to set random failures, engines, various instruments, accessories, icing problems, etc, so that the pilot has to exercise his skill to maintain flight/safe landing, etc..... 8)...!
At the moment all the failures are "timed"... :'(...!

Cheers all... ;D...!

1) More helicopter stuff; Including; AI flights, landable city location helipads, oilrigs and major industry centres. AI heliflights would be a start though.

All of this is possible right now in fs9.

???

It's a weird one this Paul. I'm running Win XP Pro and with my setup I get faster loading and better FR with 04 than 02 with settings more or less like for like.

Even so in dense areas my FR in 04 is less than satisfactory, down to mid-single figures but still slightly better than same location in 02.

I have to agree with John about FR though. I've had zillions of emails about low FR with my KT scenery and I just can't pin down the reason, if there is a single reason. But both sims are affected.

Roger

PS - I think maybe the size of your wiener may have something to do with your problems... ;)

It's been a long time since I bothered to get into the frame rate discussion, but I'll bend...

FS never has been and never will be designed to run on slower machines.  MS looks to the future, not the past.  Why would you make a sim to run on a 1.5 Gig processor, when next year, the STANDARD in chips will be 4 Gigs.  I capitalized standard for a reason.  In order to maintain in an industry like this, you play to what it's going to be like a year after FS10 comes out.  Figure a 2 year life span, and you want to play to the end of that 1st year for your game.  In another two years, our 2.4 Gig chips are going to look as antiquated as a 500 Mhz does now.  Why would you even want to play to that, even if you did have a reason?

Hi Roger...!
..funny you should mention that... :)...!

My wiener always seems to be in a much better condition running FS 2002 than it ever did running FS 2004.... ;)...!
I don't know if you remember, but FS 2002 came out with a free course of Viagra.... 8)...!
...no such luxury with FS 2004 which accounts for it's feeble simulation... :'(...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Cheers Roger... ;D...!

I'd like to see the aircraft wings bouncing in turbulence (if it's not there already).  Some airports for amphibians would also be nice.

When I was on my introductory flight, we were told to "Expedite to taxiway Hotel" as another Cessna was behind us.  This would also make a nice addition...

I have a whole list of ideas, here are just some.

Built in lesson creator.
Realistic faliures (for player and AI).
AI diversions.
Weapons support (I'd love to take up an f-15 and blow an AI 747 out of the sky.)
Birds (and birdstrikes.)
Built in gauge and panel editor.
Airports closing down (eg. fogbound).
AI Touch-and-go's
Passengers embark and disembark at gates.
Moving ground vehicles.
Crop dusting and fire fighting.
AI aircraft using VOR's NDB's etc
In-flight refueling.

What do you think? ;)

A few of these things are already available as freeware and some is payware.  The ones I know of are.......

Built in lesson creator.

Realistic faliures (for player and AI).

This (and more) is available in Alert!!

AI diversions.

Weapons support (I'd love to take up an f-15 and blow an AI 747 out of the sky.)

This is available in one of the combat sims...... and that thought is a pretty "sensitive" one in this day and age.

Birds (and birdstrikes.)

Great idea.....but how often do they happen?

Built in gauge and panel editor.
This is out there.

Airports closing down (eg. fogbound).

AI Touch-and-go's
I think this is already possible with TTools.

Passengers embark and disembark at gates.

Moving ground vehicles.
Numerous freeware and payware options.

Crop dusting and fire fighting.

AI aircraft using VOR's NDB's etc

In-flight refueling.
Payware has this one.

Bet most of the other stuff is covered too.

Why should Microsoft take all the costly development time to come up with all this stuff...... if freeware developers are already basically doing it for FREE and that free labor is basically helping SELL their program.... with no cost to them?

The "freeware" phenomona is actually a double edged sword.  ::)

best,

Quotes from FS2006 threads at other forums:
Runway reflections would be nice

Aerobridges at all airports which have them.

The boys at Microsoft should make the aircraft wear so the more you fly it, the dirtier it gets, dunno how it wud happen but it wud be damn cool to see

64-bit edition

Moving passengers, that take bathroom breaks, uh a co-pilot that you can talk to by using commands like you do with ATC. He/She could say basic info, like speed, alt., weather conditions. And stewardesses that move and serve drinks and nuts.

Cabin Annoucements

This may sound stupid but, it would be cool if you could have a carrer part of the game where you have proper flight plans ect and after you have done the flight you get paid a little money  and it goes in the bank.

ETC,
You start off with a small loan and start a small charter/airline with 1 or 2 small aircraft eg. Beech1900D or a mooney amd as you fly, you get more money and you can expand your airline, because at the moment all you do is make up where your going by yourself and thats it.

one more thing is being able to start with the engines and electicx and avonics ect OFF!---and need to turn them on before you can do anything (this includes overhead panels on some aircraft that are used on more longer routes (b747, b777, A320 ect).

[I had an idea like the career mode, I posted it in another post sometime ago.
My ideas a little different...
You start out as a student pilot, and you must complete the lessons and checkrides. As a private pilot only the single engine props are availible. Then as you increase in licences more planes are unlocked. I tihnk this would give everyone a better understanding of flying./quote]
Ride as a passenger on flights.

Moving jetways,

SID and STAR capability.

Naked flight attendants.

Voice recognition for real talking to the atc.
[move][i][color=Red]Any moment, everything can change, Feel the wind on your shoulder, For a minute, all the world can wait, Let go of your yesterday. Can you hear it calling? Can you feel it in your soul? Can you trust this longing? And take control, Fly
